This happened tonight! My niece asked if we could celebrate her birthday at Licano’s so our party of 13 got a reservation and were seated in the dining room section of the bar (at our request because it’s the drinks come faster duh.) Our waiter had never served in the bar and had to make her own drinks but she was doing fine - when the food came my niece couldn’t find any beans in her mixed burro and asked the waiter to bring her a fresh one. The waiter soon returned with the SAME PLATE OF FOOD, set it down in front of my niece and said “My boss showed me where the beans are in your burrito - we have better light in the kitchen.” My niece looked at the burro (which looked like it was opened up more than when she sent it back) and said she’d really like a new one. Plate goes back and manager arrives at the table and asks what was wrong with the burro - when my niece explained she couldn’t find any cheese or beans the manager said “Well the new one is going to have the same ingredients so I don’t understand what the difference is going to be.” Niece replies nevermind, I’d rather not argue about it just take it off the check and I’ll skip dinner to which the manager says “We’re already making one for you” and goes back to the kitchen. The new burro shows up looking much more appetising and as she’s eating it I mention to her that the gentleman about to walk past us is the owner. Niece turns to Ty the owner and says excuse me are you the owner? He replies “No I just work here” and tries to keep walking - but she’s persistent and says she has a problem; relays what happened with her food and he says “That’s terrible I will take care of this!” and leaves. Soon the entire wait staff shows up and starts removing plates from our table before everyone is done eating. So the owner’s way of dealing with issues is to rush us out the door and the manager makes her wait staff look terrible by not supporting them. Read moreI normally really love this restaurant. I went in for mother's day (the day before) with my 2 children and myself. I was told there was no seating except at the bar, no problem. In the bar there was a group of 6, one other table, then us. After we ordered( 1 steak-medium rare, and 2 chicken Cesar salads) another 3 groups came in after us and ordered. We waited, and watched as not only did each of these tables get thier food before us, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. No refills, no extra chips for our trouble, no checking on us whatsoever. After a while, a different waitress came to check on us and said the kitchen was slammed (we came at 3:00?) That would be fine enough had the other tables not received their food as well. 1 hour later, our food arrived. My son's 26 dollar steak was well done and dry, our salads were fine, but you can't really mess up a salad. Also, our original waitress didn't come back and was replaced by the new waitress (no, she wasn't off work because she was at the bar talking with her co-workers) she just didn't come back to our table which was so weird?) What I believe happened is our table was forgot about, being the steak was overcooked probably from sitting under a heat lamp. Once the second waitress realized we had not got our food, the food arrived 10 minutes later. Read moreFood 5/5, service 2/5. Let me explain. Being responsible for a family of 10, I made a reservation 2 hours prior to our arrival. The woman on the phone was polite and wrote us in. No issues. 17 minutes before our reservation time we receive a call, “Hi are you the party of 10 at 7:30? Yeeeaaahh, we can’t do that. We’re so busy with prom and we like can’t do that.” I asked if there was anything they could do because we were 5 minutes away and had made a reservation in advance. “Nooo we just can’t do that with prom night.” Upon arrival we went in stating we were here for our reservation. The hostess stated, “Yeah the girl who made the reservation shouldn’t have because it’s a very busy night and we don’t do reservations” as a reservation party walked in, ha! We explained we had made a reservation, we were on time, and we would be seated. They begrudgingly sat us 20 minutes later in the large party room in the back. Would you believe 10 minutes after being seated, the entire back room was EMPTY? Our waitress was fantastic, live music played, food was hot and delicious. Hostess services are incompetent.
