Came for my son’s 12th birthday because he’s really interested in Japanese culture and wanted to experience hibachi for the first time. The vibe was off as soon as we walked in the door and no one greeted us. However, the server came a couple minutes later, and we were seated at our hibachi table within about 5 minutes. It was weird that we weren’t greeted, but we weren’t tripping - maybe the server was just a little tired. Then we proceeded to sit at the hibachi table while the two servers (young girls) walked back and forth over 25 times without saying so much as one word to us, let alone taking our drink or sushi or hibachi orders. Eventually the manager or owner came over to our table and took our drink orders and filled them. The two servers continued to walk right past us without even so much as “I’ll be right with you,” even when they were just standing around chatting with each other. It was an extremely strange experience. About 10 minutes after the manger brought us our drinks, I asked for the check. We had been sitting there for well over 30 minutes without so much as a word from either of the servers. Choosing to leave wasn’t about the wait at all. It was that the people who are paid to serve us were treating us like an imposition. It certainly feels strange when I’m 100 times more polite and pleasant than the people getting paid to be polite and pleasant to me. We always tip at least 20%, which I’ve learned is rare in this godforsaken city, so the servers’ poor customer service skills made them miss out on what would have been a very easy table and probably one of their larger tips of the day. The restaurant left a horrible first impression. We left and likely will not be returning. I don’t spend money where I’m not appreciated and valued as a customer. The manager (or owner) did seem genuinely concerned when we were leaving, but unfortunately the very rude and incompetent servers had already ruined the place for us. My best advice, hire better servers who value ALL customers.

Read moreWe’re new to the area and enjoy great sushi when it’s found. This restaurant certainly is the complete opposite. The hosts/hostesses as well waiters/waitresses are all children essentially. From talking very loud when they’re not dealing with customers, to one waiter that was verbally going around saying that he was sick of working and didn’t want to be there anymore it was a turn off for the atmosphere. Our waitress wasn’t the most personable when it came to communicating with us either (but she wasn’t rude).
The same waiter as mentioned came to the sushi bar and requested with an ETA for a Las Vegas roll to be made due to him dropping one tables order. The manager or owner pulled the kid over to the register/kiosk next to the sushi bar and then a few minutes later he said out loud he was being sent home.
We ordered spring rolls and about 5 rolls total. The spring rolls were very tiny and tasted like something I’d buy out of the freezer section in a grocery mart. We were told the ice machine was out so there was no ice available for any drinks. Some rolls we added cream cheese and mango as well requested spicy Mayo and eel sauce on the side. None of the rolls tasted fresh, the fruit on top of the roll didn’t taste fresh, and the quality of sushi was extremely poor. None of the rolls honestly had any flavor at all so there was truly no enjoyment of tasting the ingredients (whether it was fish, crab, shrimp, etc). We also were charged a total of six extra dollars for requesting some mango, cream cheese in a few rolls and just some sauces on the side.
This was certainly beyond mediocre quality of food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience.
I would highly recommend to not waste your time or money over...
Read moreIf I could give this place no stars, I would. While we were in Shreveport for the day, we decided to try this restaurant. While the door going in the restaurant request that you wear masks, I can absolutely say that sanitation was not a top priority here.
The menus were not sanitized and contained crusty material on each page. The cardboard on the front and back of the menus was dirty as well and really cannot be sanitized properly either. The table also had a white film which could be wiped off with you finger.
My mom went to bathroom only to have her shoes stick to the floor.
My husband started out with a bottled beer as they had a BOGO special. He wanted the Sake but they were out. He could not get the waitresses attention long enough to get his free beer.
The remainder of us ordered water and soda. The Dr. Pepper seemed very sweet and almost flat.
Once the waitress came back to get our order, we were waiting for our Chef and saw a small roach crawl from under the lip of our grill. As the Chef pulled up the food cart, my husband was able to kill it with his phone. As he killed it, he stood and told the Chef that he could keep our food because we were leaving. The Chef states he would eat it to which I replied he could keep the roach also to which he said he would eat also!!! GROSS!!!!!
