I had a lovely experience at Gibbons! This restaurant is frequently filled with customers so there will most likely be a wait time when you go. I ate by myself this night so the wait time was only 30 minutes. I sat in the area towards the front of the restaurant that was off to the side and a bit reserved from the larger tables and bar area. It had other seating for 1-2 people and you can tell that it is intentionally set up for singles and couples. There’s a bit of a short wall that sort of blocks this area from the rest of the restaurant. This was great for me because I wanted to eat “privately” this night. I do not remember my server’s name but she was polite. Although, I do wish that she would have come back to check on me at least once more. Nevertheless, I understand considering that they were extremely busy. For my appetizer, I ordered the spinach dip and it was great. It was even better when I warmed my leftovers at home. Made me do the happy dance. The dip comes with both corn and flour tortilla chips. The flour tortilla chips with it is AMAZING. The corn tortilla chips were fresh and provided a nice crunch. Some sort of salsa was also provided, I am not sure of the name but I wasn’t a fan of it. It had a sort of musty taste/smell to it. For my entree, I ordered the ribs and mashed potatoes. The ribs were fall off the bone and had a decent amount of barbecue sauce. The mashed potatoes were nice and creamy with chunks of potato (?) in them. I’m not sure if they intentionally cook them this way or not but they were good. I ordered sweet potato fries on the side simply because I love their sweet potato fries. I didn’t see them on the menu but I knew they had them from a previous visit of mine. Regardless of what you decide to order, I suggest that you try the sweet potato fries! It comes with both ketchup and what looks like honey mustard. I didn’t not try the other sauce, only the ketchup. For my drink I had sweet tea. It was lightly sweetened. Next time I would probably say no/light ice as mine quickly became watered down. Overall, my meal was great and I will definitely go back again.

I ordered a filet steak with stuffed Shrimp well done and once I got home I cut it. As you can see it’s not well done. I called the manager to let them know that I did not receive a good guality of food because my steak was not well done. The manager told to bring the food back the same day I n order to have it redone. In my mind I am thinking, I am already inconvenienced because I drove across town for a meal for my dinner to cut into that red meat. I said, you want me to drive back across town the same day in order to have my meal redone, inconvenience! I called today to speak to a manager, but instead I got the owner. She stated “ our policy is you must bring the food back assumingely the same day or you just waisted your money. My statement to her, you are not unconvinced because you got your money. I did not get what I ordered. She had the audacity to say, “we do not guarantee the temperature of steaks on to go orders”. My reply, that is something you should tell your customer upon ordering a steak because it could make the difference of changing the order. Then, the owner said “why didn’t you check your order before you left”?. Well, you did not give me silverw ware, why wasn’t I given silver ware? The owner said “we do not give silver ware, it is a requested item”🤔. The owner made no consideration for the food being wrong other saying “you could have brought back but you chose not too, it’s real simple”. Then, she stated “you could have popped it in the microwave for a few seconds”. So, that’s how your running your business. As a paying patron of an establishment, you want to receive good service without being in inconvenienced. Let me tell you, based on my conversation with the owner don’t expect to meal redone without being inconvenienced . You will waist your money, time, and gas fooling with Gibbons. If your food order is wrong expect to be inconvenienced because the owner does not care because she got her money. With all of that being said, I will not ever patronize Gibbons Restaurant again.

Hello my good people. So, every time Hubby and I are in Shreveport we see how busy this place is, so we decided the next time we would be here we will try Gibbons. I made reservations for 4 because we invited a couple friends to join us. It’s one thing to feel like I wasted my own time and money but I hate it when I drag other people down with me 😭. I do not understand why this place is crowded day after day. I am honestly baffled. Are we not ordering the same food? We ordered the gumbo to start and the gibbons trio. You pick 3 entrees and 2 sides. I ordered grilled shrimp, crawfish etouffee, and salmon with sides of whipped potatoes, and steamed broccoli. The salmon and shrimp were satisfactory, meaning it was the only things seasoned. The gumbo and etouffee were horrible. I would not have been able to identify what I was eating if I was depending on the taste. They in no way resembled the dishes I grew up eating. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately they didn’t meet them. It wasn’t just me. Everyone at our table agreed that the food was not that great. My friend and Hubby didn’t like the Mac and cheese. But our other friend said the coleslaw was decent. I must say my dessert was my favorite but it’s basically just a brownie with ice cream. My friends had key lime pie and didn’t like it. She said it didn’t taste like key lime pie. I did not try it so I cannot say anything about it. At this point I was fed up. Can someone please help me understand why this place is so popular 🤷🏽♀️? Also I have eaten plenty of etouffee in my life and cooked it myself, and I have never had it as greasy as they made it. First time going, I'd give it a 3.5, almost 4. When on a Thursday for lunch & was sat immediately despite there already being a line upon opening. Location: able to find gps. Has its own parking lot. Atmosphere: very nice and clean. Booth and table seating. We had a group of 6 and sat at a table with partial booth & 2 chairs- on the verge of cramped. Weird music playing for style of place. Service: friendly and attentive enough. They did get our checks wrong but able to fix. They do not do anything for birthdays. Food: mainly seafood selection but also have soup, salad, burgers. We were a little disappointed in the portion size, just didn't expect it to be as minimal. My mom ordered the trio with 1 piece salmon & 8 shrimp (4 shrimp/order) and the salmon was kinda sad, it was basically 1/4 of a fillet which wasn't described on the menu. Their menu could describe food better because my shrimp came on a bed of rice, which it didn't say it would & I can't eat that. Pawpaw ordered fish and chips and it was more of a typical fish fry not the thick beer batter style. Their coleslaw side was a favorite! Price: affordable. Most things are around $12-16 but steaks are expensive. Overall, not bad. The food tasted good just portions were small and food not well described. Would go back but not often.

After hearing many great things about Gibbons, we decided to give it a try for ourselves. The building is very nice inside with neutral muted colors and an upscale vibe. We were seated quickly and the wait staff was there almost immediately. I was very hungry and couldn't make up my mind so I just settled for the Fish & Chips. Next time I will try something more adventurous. My wife ordered the Hawaiian Chicken that our daughter recommended. The food came quickly and it was all super delicious. From the perfectly battered and fried fish sticks with homemade tartar sauce to the great cole slaw it was a fantastic experience. I even scored a taste of my wife's Hawaiian Chicken which was excellent and well. So would I go back? The answer to that question is a solid, "YES!" It was a great experience that stands above most I've had in the Shreveport area. Upstate: Made a trip here for Father's Day and it was just as good! I tried the Trio with Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, & Crawfish Etouffee with sides of a Baked Potato & Slaw. I love the slaw but the baked potato was just average. Still a great place for a great meal.

This is my third time ordering steak. The first two times I tried medium rare and it was too rare - barely warm. This time I tried medium and asked for it to tend toward med. rare, but it was sent medium. Sirloin s a tougher cut to chew, so it was pink throughout - good job by cook with the consistency. My kids also chose the steak. Everyone thought t was well-seasoned. I had broccoli and asparagus which were also well-cooked and seasoned. Everyone enjoyed their fries. My husband had the ribs. They are truly fall-off-the-bone with a tangy sauce. The kids thought the whipped potatoes were "sour" but I thought they tasted fine. My son had the chicken tenders meal. A large portion. I could hear the crunch from across the table in the busy dining room! The negative star is because our first server went home and a second was assigned but 10 minutes later. Neither knew the bar list well enough to know the beer I requested and the wine my husband asked for were not available. The drinks took a long time to make it to the table. But the second server was energetic and attentive from that point forward. Very personable too.
