I was going not shoguns first but thought about seafood and we went to hunter crab instead to eat for my birthday. We got our food and my friend asked me do these crabs taste funny to you, I said I don’t know cause I don’t really eat them like that so she thought maybe it was off from brushing her teeth before leaving the house.. I went around 830 and was gone by 930 before I could make it to the light at youree and 70th my stomach started hurting so bad a pain I couldn’t describe. This was the only thing I ate yesterday because I knew I was going out to eat later so I waited. Let just say if the police would have gotten behind me last night that would have been a hard decision to make stop or take to the house because my stomach was hurting and cramping that bad..woke up to tell my friend happy birthday cause hers the next day and she said her stomach was tore up and she been sick since we left I’m sure if we were sick the Christmas they had there may have been sick this morning as well maybe they gave us bad food cause it was close to closing I don’t know but never will I eat there again we are sick on our birthdays
Update… the next day Icalled to tell them what happened long story short the manager tried to say it was a bug going around maybe thats what happen cause she has kids blah blah blah and that may be true but not in this case and stated because no one else called in sick from that night..she did say she would refund both our money only half because we took it To go..I told her we dine in we took the rest…yes ..so i asked her how did we know we would get sick..so I said it’s in the refrigerator at home do you want me to bring it back to get the full refund , she said yes so I forgot I just threw it away I went in the trash and took it right on back up there in a Walmart bag and got my full refund it was never about the money we eat there often but we got supper sick from the food that day but she didn’t refund my friend nothing but half because she said that the man didn’t have any food back from her.. assuming the owner i don’t know …it didn’t make sense but she also stated she wanted to make it right I think both full refund should have been given cause I’m still sick from the food and haven’t eaten anything heavy …but something is better than nothing …I won’t be returning to...
Read moreThis used to be one of my favorite places to eat whenever I visited Shreveport, but after my recent experience on Sunday January 26, 2025, I am extremely disappointed and hesitant to return. The service was inconsistent, and the staff lacked professionalism and compassion, which left a bad taste in my mouth—literally and figuratively.
The drink I ordered was unpleasant, and when I asked for it to be replaced, the waitress outright refused, saying, “We don’t send anything back, and you have to pay for it.” I had to ask for extra items just to make the drink tolerable. On top of that, the waitress was disorganized and confused about the orders. She served me the wrong food, and when I tried to return it, it accidentally fell. Shockingly, she told me I had to reorder and pay for the other person’s food, leaving us both stuck paying for the same order.
As someone with over 20 years of experience in hospitality and as a restaurant owner myself, I found this level of service unacceptable. Mistakes happen, and customers should not bear the cost of them. In my establishments, we build room in our budget for situations like this and would have comped the food or provided a discount—something this restaurant should seriously consider.
What makes this even harder is that my family just buried two loved ones who died January 1, 2025 one being my son. This restaurant had been a place I loved to stop at, offering a moment of comfort during difficult times. In fact, I was here January 19, 2025 and spent around $400, and during this visit, we spent $400–$500 again. Despite being a loyal customer and spending a significant amount, the staff and management couldn’t make a simple accommodation to correct their mistake.
It’s disheartening to see businesses lose loyal customers over situations they could have easily corrected. While this was once a go-to spot for me in Shreveport, I’m now forced to find another restaurant. The experience was not just disappointing but deeply hurtful. I hope they take this feedback seriously, as it’s sad to see a restaurant with so much potential fail its...
Read moreI’ve visited this location a few times and Friday night was the first time I’ve had an issue. I’m usually paired with Gavin, whose is an amazing server. Friday night I was sat in Ciara’s (could have different spelling) section. I do not recommend this server AT ALL. We sat around 9:30-9:45ish. The server had a party that sat slightly beside us. The party was wrapping up and leaving (they were receiving their receipts as I sat down). Ciara never came to our table and walked past us MULTIPLE times and never said a word. She completely ignored us. I had to return to the hostess station just to let them know that they sat us and after over 15 minutes no one approached us to even say “Hello, I’ll be right with you”. Funny enough, Ciara was at the hostess desk and had the audacity to turn her nose up at me and huff and puff as if I knew her personally and had an issue with her. Luckily, the hostess came to our table and took our order and advised that Gavin, who was across the restaurant I might add, was going to take care of us. THANK YOU GAVIN. I was a low maintenance table. I don’t need a ton of check-ins and actually like peace when enjoying my meal. It seems as if Ciara was afraid that adding another table OVER AN HOUR BEFORE CLOSING would have her leaving late. After the party left, she literally sat in the back room behind us on her phone. Still didn’t acknowledge us. It’s was weird. She giggled with another waitress (red and black long hair) yelling “Girl you ready to go home?”. I assumed that they would be carpooling. Funny enough, our table left before Ciara and gave Gavin an amazing tip. I will be back because our food is always hot and good but I will make sure Ciara is...
