Monday, May 9th, 2022 6:30 P.M. We were greeted by two unsmiling hosts. The fellow that began to lead us to table directed us to last table next to restroom entrance (always a big no, no with me). I asked for a different place and we had to go back to front and he had to check is seating chart. The restaurant was only half full and there seems to be some confusion about what was available. I realize that hosts try to sit customers to give waitpersons an equal share. But the amount of time and the attitude of being "put out" for the extra work involved. Again no smiles or regrets about seating arrangements (there was only me and companion). After being seated at table and given menus by host, he mentioned waiter would be with us soon........and he finally arrived. He asked if we would like something to drink. I had not had a good gin martini in awhile and asked if the bar and a premium gin I have enjoyed many times (just not all at once). He was not familiar with the brand and said he would check. He brought us our glasses of lemon water and I was told they carried the gin. I then asked if the bartender would prepare the martini a special way. He said he would ask the bartender if it would be possible. When then gave him our orders for food. After a while.............he came back to say they were out of stock on this particular gin. Due to the premium price charged for premium spirits, I decided against an alternative. After another while the waiter came by to offer bread and he went on to two other tables with people who had been seated right after us. It took a bit of time to get the bread to us. Our salads arrived and sad to say this was the highlight of the evening. The assorted greens were fresh and the bleu cheese dressing had a good scattering of small chunks of bleu cheese. I noticed that one of the two tables had received their entrées. My companion and I ordered filet mignon (6 oz.) a back sweet potato for her and loaded baked potato earlier and I was a little surprised at how long it was taking to bring our steaks to us, mine medium-rare and hers medium. Then came the presentation to the table (I do understand that this not a Ruth's Chris Steak House or Superior's). It probably would have helped if the plate was smaller save face for the steak. I realize a 6 ounce piece of beef is going to be small..........but it was very flat and had no sheen to it. Companion steak was the same. I cut a small piece to check doneness and it looked fine. After put that morsel in my mouth, it had NO heat and was room temperature at best. I could not go on with this insult to fine beef preparation. Companion steak was right color, but again room temperature. I decided to check into loaded baked potato. Another disappointment. The skin was very hot to the touch, but cheese was not melted or melting. The meat of the potato was cold! The waiter came to the table and asked how our meals was going, I almost said "it had left the building". Companions was warmer than mine as would be expected with medium request. Please note I said "warmer". Sweet potato was luke-warm and if it had not been for the soft butter, I don't think there would have been any melting. The waiter then asked if I wanted my steak heated I said no. I did not bring these problems up to manager, but companion did and was given a 25% discount. This would have been acceptable except for the fact my martini was still on the check, so it had to be removed. Needless to say, steak was taken home for a wonderful meal...
Read moreOur 26th. Anniversary of Marriage. My wife was in terrible pain and had just received an injection into her thigh nerve for pain management and was having quiet a time trying to feel better. She ordered a fine steak & a loaded baked potato and a drink. She complained that her steak was hard to chew even though she had fought trying to eat it. It looked like and smelled delicious. She said it had gristle in it that she had trouble biting threw. She has great strong teeth. I noticed that she was trying very hard to eat the steak but alas, it wore her down. The head chef came out and listened very carefully to her complaint and asked her exactly what he could do to make it perfect and she asked him to make it tender or get a better choice if steak out. He immediately did exactly what she asked of him and brought it out and she said it needed to be cooked a little longer and he willingly did that. She tried it and then asked if he could cook it a little longer again. For the 3rd time he did it and even brought her a freshly baked loaded potato back to her. Behold, it was indeed a perfect steak this time and she thanked him as I also did with deepest apologies from myself and my wife. He apologized with his deepest feelings to please her as much as he could and NOT ONCE HINTED FIR MORE MONEY OR ANYTHING ELSE. He was so pleased that she was so happy that he just left it with us to enjoy and let him know if he could help her further be satisfied. She thanked him graciously as I did and we finished our meals. I was really impressed with this personal service that he gave to my wife and I tipped them appropriately and again sent my thanks to the magnificent chef and letvhim know that we would be returning soon. Never in my whole life had I ever saw a chef take it upon himself to come out and personally make a steak to perfection as though I had bought a whole beef for myself with such pride and caring as this chef did. I recommend that you go to this Longhorn Steakhouse on You're Drive in Shreveport Louisiana if you want to eat a perfectly grilled steak that will indeed melt in your mouth. I am so proud if that chef and my wife us too. By the way, my steak was served perfect and juicy the first time and it was the best steak that I ever have eaten in my life. Please, please please attend and patronize this steakhouse if you are hungry and want the perfect steak served to you with nothing but the best of wanting to make their customers happiness in their mind. I proudly thank the chef and this establishment for treating my wife and me like we sold them the beef that they were grilling for our taste buds to enjoy. A wonderful testament of the service and satisfaction that they have for their customers. Thank You Longhorn and I wish that you continue to be in business for as long as you choose to be and I will come back always for my delectable steak every time that I feel the need to eat a correctly grilled steak from now on. Read moreMy family and I chose to eat here on Mother's Day to show a little extra life for our mothers. We had a total of 4mothers including myself and had a group of 10. On this day, they weren't accepting tables for groups larger than 6 people. We asked for two tables around the same time. One group was seated about 20minutes before the second group. When the second table was ready, I went to find my family on the other side of the restaurant to let them know we were being seated. They were in a large booth. With an empty booth in front of them and a larger booth behind them waiting to be cleaned. I went to the hostess and the manager who was also at the hosting podium and asked if our families could be seated together. The manager walked off without acknowledging my question and the hostess said they couldn't do that because it would be inconvenient for them. So we sat on opposite sides of the restaurant. The service was pretty good. Our waitress got our drinks and appetizer to the table quickly. When our entrees came, we begin to dig in. My mother in law looked up and noticed that my daughter's burger was not fully cooked. We alerted our waitress of the raw burger. She suggested that she take the remaining portion of the burger and cook that on the grill and bring it back out. Her dad asked them to just remake the burger completely. Then the waitress then pointed out that the burger is almost half eaten. (This is a kid's burger so two bites is almost half) and then she leaves with the burger. She comes back to the table to let us know that the burger will be remade then goes on to mention how guests complain about food and demand food to be remade, but then continue to eat the food they were dissatisfied with. At this point I was offended. The service for the rest of the meal was good. The food is always delicious. We just didn't get the service we usually receive...
