I went in the middle of the day. The owner was there with two other employees, one I believe to be the assistant manager or manager and the other was a new hire. The manager was funny and the three of us had some laughs. I wandered around, checking out art from local artists and the prayer requests corner, and they brought my drink to me.
The owner waited on me and she helped me find the exact right drink for me, even though I was totally over-sharing personal info, and it took several minutes and lots of self-deprecating jokes. I had a London Fog, which was new to me. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and even tried my own rendition at home.
I also purchased a day old pastry for half price and enjoyed it quite a lot. I'm glad she bagged it for me because after it was warm, it fell apart. The owner indicated the pastries (except for the bagels) were also locally made at Whisk and Spoon, which makes me want to investigate another locally owned business.
I also saw the owner interact with a small business owner of a store going in next door. She was very pleasant and helpful and seemed to offer advice, should he need it. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, it was so quiet that I couldn't help but overhear.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I hope to go back soon.
Apologies to both the owner and manager for not remembering your names - some things...
Read moreNicest barista, she was fast and was very helpful in telling me the difference in the types. I wanted creamy and not too sweet and she recommended the Breve pumpkin chocolate. It was just what I was seeking ! Very VERY reasonable prices, but please bring cash! They accept cards , but it charges THEM the 3% charge for cards. I would totally pay a dollar more for the service, taste, kindness, and options to help cover those costs ! This is the kind of vibe a coffee shop should give. I seen someone doing work calls at a table, another couple just lounging. There was enough room between people to also be quiet. The prayer wall was also cool. I didn't even know this was a Christian establishment (I only seen it driving by, not done my research) because their beliefs weren't shoved down my throat. It was a sort of gentle nudge of love from their beliefs that was done very subtle and with class. I'll...
Read moreI've been in several times to sit and get some work done. It is a very relaxing place, kind of what the trope of the comfy coffee house has put into our minds. I always get a vanilla latte and it has been excellent, even give it to you in a mug instead of a paper cup which I swear affects the taste.
My wife and son wanted Starbucks the other day so I insisted we go here instead. They ordered specialty drinks (I think Snickerdoodle and Peppermint bark), they did not care for them. I have to admit it wasn't the best, but I'm pretty sure the only reason these taste good at other places is the insane amount of sugar they add.
Definitely make sure to try it out. Friendly people, good atmosphere, and all of my orders have...
