This trip gets one star. I have been a Derwienerschnitzel expert for many years from growing up out west. Moved away many years ago and to this day make it a point to eat at them whenever I find one. We were so excited to see this one get built. Man were we let down. Almost $29.00 for 4 chili cheese dogs, 2 all beef chili cheese dogs and a medium order of fries. The only thing that tasted the same were the fries. The dogs, buns, chili and cheese were the worst we ever had and that is very unfortunate for those who know better. I don't know what happened. Was it a shift thing, different food thing or what? I do know this trip was a huge miss!! I will try it again the next time we go through there though and report back. In addition to that, it took over 10 minutes to get our food at the drive thru and we were the only people at this store. So disappointed!! Stay tuned........
UPDATE......... It's not the same. This place will go extinct if they don't get back to the years past. Really sad to see that this experience wasn't any better. What a waste of an Iconic food chain if this is what it has come to. To the owner: I'm available if you need to get it together!
UPDATE........I gave them another chance and obviously some changes took place since my first visit to this location. First of all they are back to using the correct buns with their hot dogs. This experience took me back to what I loved about their chili cheese dogs. I will be going back soon. I would have given 5 stars but, I still feel they are a bit too pricey. I hope my next experience confirms their...
Read moreSo, out running our farm errands and we see this joint. As my honey has limited junk food opportunity he was like "hhheeeeeyyyyy....You're gonna be to tired to cook wanna just stop here?"
I got the Chicago Dog and a drink, he had a double chilli cheese burger and a chilli cheese dog, potatoes & a drink.
We ordered all polish dogs, because we prefer that texture, it did cost extra but we were okay with that & happy they had an option.
The food looked like quintessential junk food should. The taste was on point. One of the staff came out and was joking around with everyone in the lobby, while quizzing everyone with the "How was everything?" question .We had so much fun being silly there As farmers silly days are not common, too busy for all of that!!! Made for an amazing fun time that made us feel teenagery I guess.
Only 3 cons:
Only seats 29 people and it would be kinda crowded.... I think 29 people is a stretch.
The dogs needed a more substantial hot dog bun. The bun winds up a little too soggy towards the end of your hot dog, so the last of it you have to eat without the bread.
It cost $35...

So, please keep that in mind when considering this restaurant, establishment, and/or venue. MY REVIEW: Drove an hour from Tulsa just to eat there. We hadn't had Weinerschnitzel since they left Tulsa back in the 1980s. Worth the drive. They're combined with Tastee Freez. They also have coupons on their website. We got two chili coneys and fries for just $4.99. We added drinks and corn dogs. The corn dogs were deep-fried and crunchy like the good old days. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is small but clean and nice with outdoor seating as well. They have chili coneys for only $1 on Wednesdays. Im sure we'll be taking another afternoon...
