Located in a 100+ year old former Office (1914) & adjacent Coal Transfer & Storage buildings (1907), this one of a kind restaurant, a tiny bit off the beaten path, is definitely worth seeking out & experiencing if you are visiting (or live in!) Silver City. Our Server/Slash/Cashier, Hannah is a very pleasant, gentle spirit. We ordered 2 meals from the daily special board; an asparagus, mushroom & gouda Fritatta that was absolutely divine as it melted in the mouth. As airy as any soufflé with clearly distinct flavors of each of the main ingredients. The other dish was a "warmed on the grill" sandwich, I believe it was called The Big Piggy on homemade bread with the perfectly baked crusty crust & soft "insides", made from various pork products (sorry I forget exactly what they were) & melted cheese. Both dishes were served with a homegrown mescal salad & lemon vinaigrette dressing, the perfect accent. "Dining In" is actually a dining outdoors in the back of the building experience. I believe there were about 10 tables that can seat about 30 people total. You can visit their raised bed organic garden growing peppers, tomatoes, chives, and other vegan & gluten free veggies. Water is self-serve, "all you can drink" from a thermal dispenser outside, it had a very clean taste, no particles or metal flavors noted. I believe each dish was around $11.75, which seems to be the going rate for most of the items on the menu. Total bill for 2 with taxes & 1 bottled beverage was $28.80+$6 tip = $35-ish. The superb quality of the ingredients & cooking preparations made this a place well worth spending this amount for a lunch for 2. Currently, Spring/Summer 2023, it is open 5 days a week Thursday through Monday, serving breakfasts & lunches from 09:30a - 2:30p. Since dining in is dining outside, I do not know what days/hours they keep when the weather turns cold, phone to check in the winter & late fall. One last note. If you park facing uphill in front of the restaurant on S. Bullard, you need to do a turn around in the driveway of the business across the street to leave the location as the top of the hill on S. Bullard turns into a One Way street, and you will be going the wrong way 😉. klee

Food is a 2 or 3… service is excellent. Got the smothered breakfast burrito in red sauce with chorizo added. Got it ordered to-go. Overall, the burrito is very pretty, but very underwhelming in flavor and value for the price. I found a couple speckles of chorizo, that were barely detectable in flavor. I am pretty sure they made their own red sauce…. And it’s okay. Nothing to write home about. Pretty bitter. The majority of the burrito is just the tortilla with big chunks of potato. Like I said… it was very prettily presented, but it didn’t hit the value and flavor marks at all. I can tell they try really hard on quality of preparation and presentation, though. And the people working there are super friendly! With a 15% tip (to-go), I paid $19.25 for just a burrito. No sides or drink included. That’s kinda crazy considering I was also left not entirely full. The photo I included makes the burrito appear a little bigger than it really was. I had a hunch this would happen when I picked up the to-go box and it was pretty light weight. Ya live and ya learn. Can’t recommend unless you want something a little off the beaten path and cute atmosphere, and are willing to pay extra for that.

It’s rare to visit a place that not only feels like you’ve come home but has you smacking your lips so hard you think about moving just so you can eat there every day. Corner kitchen has staff that are genuinely happy to be there and it shows by how they interact with you. The dining hall has a nostalgic comfort feel. Howard often feels like a heart of the community the way he welcomes newcomers and those who clearly frequent the place. But let’s talk about the food. I had the pleasure and privilege to eat four different meals, a cookie and a scone. I can’t choose which I loved more. The breakfast —frittata with ham and cheese and a side salad with the most perfect lemon dressing over perfectly picked greens— was my most recent eat. I could go on and on but to sum it up— This place is a gem.

Menu is whatever the chef decides to make for the day. There will be 6-7 entrees to choose from, vegan optiins available. Everything is made from scratch and fresh ingredients used. Price is more than reasonable for quality of produce and chef's recipes. $12 per entree. Baked cakes and a variety of scones also reasonably priced. $3 each. The baked good were Delicious. I got lemon blueberry cake (rich and moist) and the apricot scone was flakey but dense as a scone should be (blueberry and almond scone were also available).

I ordered meatloaf, mash potatoes, green bean blue cheese salad. The green bean salad was exquisite. Great vinegrette dressing with blue cheese crumbles and red onion.

Plenty of shaded outdoor seating and indoor seating all in the back of the building. Dog friendly. Lots of local peopke were dining there. Locally owned. Very friendly staff and good service. Howard was a very nice man and we shared personal stories for a quick minute. Missy was equally as pleasant and got me my bakery goods to go. We shared our interest in roses.

If visiting Silver City, you can ask the local people dining there for recommended things to do. I went on a hike (dragonfly trail). Walking through town is cool as sbops are run by local craftsmen...
