California Pizza Kitchen at Simi Valley Town Center — Restaurant in Simi Valley

Awful experience. Service was not bad but definitely not good. Food was absolutely not good.

General run down of the evening: Sat down and waited about 10 mins before our Server came to us. We immediately placed our order. It took 15 mins before bread and water came out after that. Followed by appetizers that came out several minutes later, cold. We sent them back and did not see them along with our meal items and specialty drinks until about 50 or minutes after sitting down at the table. With in 5 minutes of receiving the food we asked the Server for the check and boxes which also took another long amount of time before we finally saw him again.

Food reviews: Avocado egg rolls- cold Smashed Avocado Bread- old wilted salad, with avocados that looked slightly brown “smashed” on top of hard cold focaccia bread. Hawaiian pizza- average

Drinks: strawberry mango cooler… awful tastes like a candle and again was not brought out until 30 plus minutes into our meal. Aka 5 minutes before be left.

Raspberry lemonade- so tart it was almost undrinkable.

Overall not good. We wished we had just eaten elsewhere. Save your money and time and skip...

My boyfriend and I come to this location all the time, and we walk out typically satisfied. However, last night we went and our experience was very different - to the point where we were so focused on the poor service that we didn’t enjoy our meal. It was about 8pm, and we were sat by the bar at a booth. Our server came and asked us what we wanted to drink, and began to walk away before we were done. He did the same when we went to order food. That was really the only time he came to our table. We tried getting his attention so we could ask for something that was forgotten, but he was cleaning the bar area and was very focused. We even tried to grab the manager’s attention but he was cleaning as well. The kitchen staff was cleaning and playing their own music loud which was annoying to hear over the music playing in the restaurant. Anyways, I am sure they’re very busy but it was unfortunate that we couldn’t get anyone’s attention for a long period of time. We just wanted to leave. Food is always good though. I've been here many times, usually for take out. On most occasions something is forgotten. However, the other night when I went to pick up dinner for my family and another family who just had a baby, the waitress was amazingly detail-oriented! She took such care in separating the meals so it was easy to see which food went to my friend and what was for my family. She helped me register for the rewards program. And she brought it out to my car for the curb side pick up! Awesome service!

The food is so good here!! I recommend the tostada pizza with like chicken, the two in a bowl soup with split pea and potato soup. And for dessert get the key lime pie and butter cake!

The kids pizzas are perfect size for my kids. Don't waste your time on the kids chocolate milk. There was hardly any syrup in there. It was pretty much just milk.
