Had better. They had a lot of items. but nothing was overly impressive that differentiated their menu from a typical Asian buffet. We went on s Saturday night. There was a lot of seafood, great for someone who loves seafood but not for someone looking for variety outside of that. I know some buffets have more seafood on weekends so that may be the case with them as well. But, we went because it specifically stated it was a mix between Asian and American and we had a larger group that really wanted one or the other. This seemed like a logical choice.
Their salad bar was fresh in what they had. Just a simple selection. Their "croutons" were diced bread that wa placed to the side of the buffet with the utensil laying directly on it. I personally would want to touch those after everyone's hands had to grab it and touch the food to pick it up. Boy to mention the bread was drizzled with oil and stale not my cup of tea.
Their hibachi portion was good. Everyone who got something from there was satisfied. You choose your own ingredients and then they cook it for you. Kind of different in that most others you tell the chef what you want and they put the whole thing together. So you have a bit more control over exactly what goes in your dish.
Their dessert section wasn't impressive. They had a self serve cooler with ice cream tubs and scoopers that sat in a running water dispenser so the ice cream for the most part had extra water from the scooper. Slight turn off. And from what we tried off the dessert bar nothing really tasted had much taste. They had rice pudding that was completely diluted.
The bathrooms were a bit disappointing. The stall I entered had writing all over and etched in. Their soap dispenser was full......of watered down soap.... making me wonder if that's what the staff wash their hands with I have no interest in returning. Oh. And no changing table in the men's room - daddy's change their children too. The women's had one.
Overall it was mediocre. If you've been to a Ryans I'd rate it at about the same level.
We won't be going again. There were 8 of us in the group - 4 adults, 2 teens, 1 tween, 1 toddler. The only positive feedback from everyone at the table was...
Read moreI work for the Greenville county disabilities and special needs board as an active treatment specialist. I planned an outing to epic buffet for a number of the residents I work for. We paid for all of the residents to eat at lunchtime during the week. There weren’t very many customers in there during this time. Several of the wait staff were harassing me and the other staff members who attended the entire time we were there. Apparently they don’t understand or care that the residents we were attending with are unable to get their own plates of food. As staff members we were there to do that for them. They kept walking around and asking us if the plates were for us. Now it doesn’t take a genius to realize that the people we were there with are disabled. And not only that but we explained to them what was going on when we got there and unfortunately continuously throughout our time there. They were confronting us as if we were stealing from them. Quite the contrary. We payed for 38 plates and drinks. They should of been thanking us for our business. Not stepping on the heels of my shoe as I was walking out. They were literally cleaning the tables as we were standing up to leave. I have never experienced such rude and unprofessional staff in any establishment in my entire life. And to be honest I’ve eaten there before and the food is rubbery and soggy. But then again I’m from California and I know what real Chinese food tastes like and you will not find anything close to that at epic buffet. I do like the fact that they have a sushi bar but that is the only compliment I can give. Epic buffet could care less about people with intellectual or physical disabilities. If you like real Chinese food or care about people with special needs my recommendation would be to stay away...
Read moreFive years ago, this restaurant was my go-to spot for a buffet, offering great value and a clean dining environment. However, my recent visit left me feeling that it has lost much of its former appeal. Despite spending nearly $50 for two, including tip, the experience did not meet my expectations.
Admittedly, I'm generally not a fan of buffets, but this place once stood out for its cleanliness and maintenance. Yet, this visit revealed a stark contrast, particularly in the men's restroom, where I witnessed a repairman aggressively addressing plumbing issues with a wrench, amidst a floor unacceptably soiled. The restroom's condition was distressingly poor.
The quality of the food, especially the sushi, which I once enjoyed, seemed to have diminished significantly. The sushi appeared hastily prepared, lacking the pride in presentation I remembered. Additionally, the flavors were off, with some items tasting unpleasantly, leading me to worry about potential food poisoning.
The ambiance has also changed, with a noticeable decline in the clientele's decorum. I observed unsupervised children causing disruptions, affecting the overall dining experience for others. This shift in atmosphere, coupled with the decline in food quality and cleanliness, suggests a broader issue with the restaurant's current management and direction.
Regrettably, based on this experience, I do not plan to return. It's disheartening to see a place I once held in high regard fail to uphold its standards, affecting both the dining experience and the...
