Firehouse Bar — Restaurant in Sioux City

This place is nice. The 2 ladies (I presume they were the bartenders, whereas I believe the rest of the people behind the bar were barbacks) behind the bar were extremely polite, helpful, and go out of their way to talk to you and make sure you are having a good time. They had good knowledge of the whiskeys on hand, and made a great suggestion for a whiskey to try! The rest of the staff is helpful too, but a tad less interactive (this may have just been due to the time I went in, as they did seem busy...) They are a little limited in what cocktails they make, but their style of drinks caters well to the crowd they are targeting. It does seem to be a bar aimed at a young crowd, which is refreshing in a way. Overall, it was a pretty good time! I will definitely have...

Never bothered to give patronage here, after today I and never will. A few years ago, I heard about how petty and country-simple the business ownership is, and today I experienced the true colors of this rumor. I volunteered to come and work as a member of what appeared to be an already overstaffed cleaning crew this morning. My point of contact never bothered to show up, and I was rudely and inexplicably asked to leave, before I was even able to show my application. I did nothing to offend anyone, but the owner refused to discuss the issue he had with me, and insisted that I "GET OUT!" I brought two friends here toward the end of the night. I had been the driver all evening and was sober, nearing bar close I decided to order a captain and coke. The gentleman who made it was friendly as was the gal behind the bar. The drink tasted like it didn't have any alcohol in it. I was polite to the waitress and let her know. She shrugs and says, yeah sometimes they make them like that, then walked away. Confused, I waited for her to come back. I asked maybe could I have a beer instead? She said sure, then handed me what I asked for. I thought nothing of it until I cashed out the tab and realized i was charged for both. Poor customer service, its no surprise the place had hardly...
