Recently built a house and moved from the West side to the East side of Sioux Falls. I end up taking 10th Street / Arrowhead Parkway and started noticing there are a lot of places to eat between the Viaduct and Veterans Parkway… no less than 50 places on that stretch I counted actually, this being one of them.
I was excited to find another Ramen restaurant in town. The food here reminds me a lot of Ramen Fuji. I was really rooting for this place when I found it and really really wanted this to be better in some way than Ramen Fuji, either better, or cheaper, or faster… anything, but unfortunately it fell short.
Food here is really good. Price is on par with Ramen Fuji (which is pretty expensive for soup, figure $20 a person) so those two things are very comparable.
This is an older building, so the ambiance is not as nice as it’s competitor. When I ordered, I was told “ten minutes” which I thought was a bit long but then it actually ended up being over 15. Not terrible but knowing that now, if I order there again I’ll call it in.
I think the ambiance only hurts them slightly. I was amazed at how many take out orders were going out the door… again, the food IS good!
The tough sell for me is most of the time I’m with the family and we want to go sit down and Ramen Fuji is only 2 miles away.
Worth a try, if it were a bit cheaper or faster I might be persuaded to give up our go to Ramen joint. Service was good, I wish them the...
Read moreOverall, a solid 4. No drive-thru, dine-in/carryout only. I was told 10-15 minutes and it was done in about 8. I had the sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken. It was really hot but had kind of a weird smell...almost a chemical or cleaning solution smell. They tasted really good; they have a nice crispy and crunchy outside and the sauce had a good tangy flavor. The aftertaste was kind of like the smell in my car when I drove them home. Subtle but it's there. I got the pickled radish chunks and they smelled weird too so I didn't eat or try them. For $11.99 I got 8 wings/drums about the size of BWW's. So at $1.50 per wing they had better be pretty amazing!
The restaurant was a little lonely. I don't remember music playing. It wasn't dark but not well lit, either. There was an unplugged mini fridge awkwardly by one of the entrances.
I'll try them again...
Read moreThis place is definitely worth visiting, me and my bf had come like twice because they had Korean corn dogs and they are absolutely amazing. The taste was so so good and the cheese was so melty and the cheese pull was crazy it was super good. We ended up coming again and wanted to try something new and we got chicken and pork katsu curry and a chicken and pork bun and let me tell you it was amazing, the buns were so good and soft and the sauce the meat had was super tasty and zesty with some sweet. Also the curry was super delicious and the meat super tender. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something new. I don’t ever write reviews for restaurants but this one...
