My friend and I saw the five star reviews while visiting Sioux Falls and decided to stop by, considering we’d never tried Ethiopian food before and wanted to check it out. We are so glad we did! Upon entering the restaurant, our noses were greeted by the delicious scents of roasting meats and vegetables, exotic spices tying it all together. My friend and I had no idea what to order and the owner(The sweetest, most kind woman you will ever meet) was quick to explain what was in each dish and how spicy each one was. My friend and I shared a plate between us of two dishes and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and hot, and the owner does all of the cooking herself in the back. She puts her entire heart and soul into her food and it shows. The environment is so relaxed and feels like a home away from home where you don’t have to put up any sort of false pretense or airs just because you’re in a restaurant— You can simply be yourself. At the end of the meal, I simply had to hug the owner and express to her my thanks for her kindness. Her soul shines through her eyes in such a way that you just want to embrace her. She told us that she was simply pleased to have been able to give us the experience of trying Ethiopian food for the first time. She said that she is glad to provide such an experience for everyone who comes in and loves the opportunity whenever it presents itself. She then blessed me and my friend, and we parted like we’d known each other for some time, though we’d only just met. The owner and her restaurant are a memory I’ll remember for some...
Read moreThe best Shero we’ve ever had in a while. We are not a big fan of eating out especially when it comes to Ethiopian food since we make it at home with an authentic ingredients sent from the origin. My family and I were on a short graduation trip in SD and we really wanted Ethiopian food. We googled and found few but most weren’t open so we waited until 11am and called shalom. A sweet lady answered and we asked if there is a vegan option and she said she has the best Shero we’ve ever had before. With a doubt in our mind, we decided to go just to give it a shot. The pleasant welcome, the humble service, and YES the best Shero we were served definitely left us speechless. And the fresh coffee (which the owner Seble said she won’t charge us for) was to die for. We felt like we were at home and left wishing we lived closer to SD. Thank you Seble. You are amazing! We wish you all the success this world has to offer . Don’t let the look deceive you. Please give this place a try you won’t be...
Read moreHighly recommend visiting this restaurant. Absolutely delicious food and extremely friendly service. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like you are at home. The owner is beyond kind and makes you feel very welcome and like family. The food is high quality and delicious, an unexpected gem in Sioux Falls.
We enjoyed the food and coffee quite a bit. If you are a fan of beef tartare and it is the weekend then I recommend Kitfo, it was amazing a healthy portion, I also would recommend it with onion and jalapenos. If you don't like tartare then without a doubt the KariaTibs are the way to go and I would recommend the dry version.
Again, I would completely recommend this restaurant and on top of that I would recommend going out of your...
