Hear ye, hear ye, those who are far and wide! Unless ye like tourist traps, go elsewhere for ye milkshakes. (Ok, my done with the “ye’s”) This was our first time going to Sno Cap after hearing about it for years. The inside is still closed (not sure why the other reviewer said they were open. They definitely are not. There are signs everywhere saying the inside is closed.) We ordered milkshakes online and the directions said to go in the Exit door to pick up our order. I did and you should have seen their faces. They started hollering at me and told me to wait in line outside at the regular window. I apologized and said the website told us to go inside through the exit door. They were totally freaked out I was in there. So, customer service … rude and not good. The food? Well, the milkshakes are extremely overpriced and they aren’t ice cream. My Peach shake was made with soft serve and fake peach syrup. No peaches in it. Soft serve and syrup is not ok for the price we paid. My son’s chocolate peanut butter shake was also soft serve, had practically no chocolate in it but had lots of gloopy peanut butter which was too thick to go through a straw. He said it would have been easier if they had handed him a jar of peanut butter and a spoon. He didn’t want to finish it. I’ve never seen a kid NOT finish a milkshake.
My other son’s mint chocolate chip shake was filled half way with regular mini chocolate chips that were just dumped in there. He drank the small amount of liquefied soft serve and then handed me the cup. The rest of the cup was just chunky mini chips which he said would be gross to eat by themselves. I agreed and threw it away. In conclusion, because the shakes are made with soft serve, they ended up foamy towards the end of drinking. Every person in my family threw theirs away 3/4 of the way done. Sno Cap was a complete waste of money and a total tourist trap. I can’t believe we wasted so much mullah on those nasty shakes. (approx $50!) We will...
Read morehorrible customer service skills. the girl that worked the cash register is a liar. Overpriced, difficult parking. Was excited to eat at this restaurant due to other customers talking about how good this place is. Spent more than $42 for a plain burger and fries, fish and chips sub tots. nothing more. Ordered the food from the girl at the cashier, she was nice and all smiles. A different employee, a lady brought out the food. She was nice as well. The burger was OK, nothing special, fish was too small a portion and too breaded and fried for the outrageous price they were charging. worst thing is the tots. Tried to eat the tots, but it tasted like whoever cooked it spilled a ton of salt on it. It was extremely salty. so salty couldn't eat any of it. and so salty I had to go let the girl at the cashier know about it. So I walked up there, in the nicest tone, I told her the food is good, but the tots are just too salty. she immediately put on a mad face, argued that it is a 'manufacturer's issue.' exact words she said. then she turned her face away dismissing me, signaling too bad.
The biggest problem about this place is lying to a customer. If you look closely at the tots, the salt was obviously sprinkled on after it was cooked. the salt did not come with the tots from the manufacturer. So disappointed at the cashier girl and this restaurant. Was excited to support a local business but no more after being lied to and no offer of replacing the salty food with other food. The food was so overpriced and just average. Sad had to throw the tots away. Disappointing customer service reaction from the...
Read moreThis place is best for milkshakes and nothing else. Opened in the 50s the structure hasn't changed much since then, so it's very small with a few booths inside and more seating outside, some of which people use to sit in while they wait for their middling food. We were out-of-towners, which means that when the wait got long, very long, for a simple burger and fries, and milkshake of course, because there's one cook in a tiny kitchen with teenagers doing everything else, one of said teenagers thought it best to alert the two teenage girls in front of us who'd taken a seat at the booth near the kitchen, but didn't pass the message on to us, standing very nearby. Thanks to my proximity to the exchange I got that it would be "about 15 minutes," which turned into a total of 45 minutes. Extra fries were piled into the girls' bags in apology for the inconvenience of the wait, from not just the one but two of the boys working their shifts as runners for the kitchen. But this is what you do when you're in highschool, working a burger joint job, no? Needless to say we got no extra fries, but it turned out that was for the best, since the food really wasn't good and was for sure not worth the 45-minute wait. Frozen patties on Franz buns with okay lettuce and tomato, and greasy, just okay tater tots. The "special sauce" wasn't special. The only thing worth ordering is the milkshakes, which are ready in less than 10 minutes and at least the line kinda moves fast, sort of. They have a ton of flavors, from marionberry to peanut butter cup, and are rich and delicious. Eat lunch elsewhere first, go here...
