My boyfriend and I were both craving burgers after a long hike near the sisters and we found this place and decided to go. Upon entry it had a good atmosphere and we were seated quickly. To start, we were sat at a table directly next to the air vent blasting cold air when it was 40-50 degrees outside. We were pretty bundled up already so we decided to deal with it. On top of that we were sat at a half booth half chair table and the booth was too tall for the table so I was looking down at my boyfriend and couldn't move my legs at all without kneeing the table. Within 5-10 minutes a server walked up, introduced herself then proceeded to say "oh Im sorry your server will actually be Lucas" and walked away. We waited another 10-20 minutes before he came by. After having plenty of time to look through the menu with lots of different choices we both decided to get something other than burgers. We put in our orders and got our appetizer pretty quickly. We had maybe taken two bites of the potatoes chips (which were delicious) before they brought us our entrees. I got a bit worried because when food comes out that quickly it usually means not much cooking went into it, just reheating. I had gotten Nana's Chicken pot pie after seeing another patron eating it across the room, and my boyfriend got the Prime Rib French Dip. The pot pie was definitely pre made as the pastry that comes on top of it wasn't flaky at all. They gave me a spoon to eat it with but the pastry was so chewy I had to use a fork and knife instead. The chicken was overcooked and chewy, and there was practically no filling. I was pretty disappointed that the freezer pot pies I have at home are better than what I got. The Prime Rib French dip wasn't bad, but my boyfriend said the meat could've been better. Also it comes with horseradish, but we couldn't taste it at all. Lucas never once came back to check on us, so my boyfriend had to grab him as he was walking around filling the silverware containers to ask for more horseradish. Then we had to search out for him again to get another beer. My boyfriend asked for another drink and Lucas said sure and tried to run off without giving me a chance to also ask for another since mine was empty. Once again, we had to go look for him because we were done with our food and wanted to get the check. Once he brought the check he was back within seconds to charge my credit card. We wanted to finish our drinks and we were in the middle of a conversation when he came back within another minute to get the signed check with the tip. I said "Im sorry I haven't gotten a chance to fill it out yet", and he turns to me and says "well Im at the end of my shift Im trying to leave" and walks away. We were stunned that he was trying to push us out like that, and it was only 8pm. Overall, we were very disappointed with the expensive reheated food and horrible service. Only reason Im not giving one star was because the potato chips and beers...
Read moreThe food was basic. We had a salad, wings, and potato skins on a trip to Dee Wright Observatory. The problem? The salad was served on a hot plate (ick; it wilted in minutes and was nasty). The wings were pretty good. The potato skins could have used more seasoning and some green onions or something to liven them up. They were a bit greasy.
The atmosphere is nice - sort of a western town vibe. Uncomfortable seating at both tables (where we were first sat) and in booths (where we asked to be moved to). And the move is the real problem. When we visited, the restaurant was not busy -- not by a long shot. We asked the host to seat us in a booth. They refused (we were a party of two, and apparently the only open booth was for parties of up to six). There were plenty of tables open, mind you, that could accommodate large parties. The host was rude in denying our request, so we asked the server to move us. She was happy to accommodate.
The second server we had was...inattentive at best. She never checked on us once she served our drinks or after the food runner brought out the meal. Ugh. For $50/two guests, this is not the level of service I expect. We aren't high maintenance, but we do like our sodas refilled once during a meal.
Suffice to say...we won't be giving the Sisters Saloon & Ranch Grill a second chance. Which is a bummer, because we wanted very much to enjoy it and would have gone there regularly on our trips to...
Read moreFirst off I would like to start this review with I have been to this restaurant four times before this visit. The previous visits were good except one. This makes visit number five I live in a different city so I have to drive almost an hour to get to this restaurant. I like the drive and the small town of sisters and sister saloon is my favorite place to eat. We had a family member come in from out of town and we took her to sister's saloon and ranch grill for dinner. I have to say what a big disappointment The restaurant let us down. We all ordered steak for dinner The steaks were not cooked as we asked and the scoop of mashed potatoes on all three plates were ice cold along with the vegetables. So we had warm steak with ice cold vegetables. If I hadn't had family from out of town with us I would have overlooked this and gave it five stars across the board I did only deduct one star as out of the five times I have eaten here three were good and two were not so good so this gives you an average when dining here I am still going to dine here because I love the staff and overall the food is good this is my honest opinion please give this place a try they do have great food here and the dessert was worth driving even further for just...
