My husband and I went for lunch because it had such great reviews. The service was great until more people started rolling in and then we were forgotten about. The food overall was horrific. The sushi poppers were bland, zero flavor. Their take on a crab rangoon was the only thing edible and that's not saying much. The filling was okay and the wonton was almost burnt. The crunchy roll was like nothing I have ever eaten and hopefully like nothing I will ever eat again. I had one piece and my husband had one and we both agreed there was an aftertaste that could not be described. We asked to have it removed from the bill and the waitress shrugged her shoulders and I guess ignored me because she did not remove it. In the end, my husband had to have his food to go because she never brought it out to us. Terrible food, okay service, and a huge waste of money.

So now you have horrible food and you call your customers liars, that's great! I most certainly did ask for that roll to be removed from my bill and she never asked if we wanted a different roll. Yes, we got apps prior to his main meal. We sat for a good while after that while the people around us who came in after us were being served their main dishes. I gave the opportunity to correct things when I mentioned my unhappiness while I was still there. Had I never opened my mouth and came home to write a bad review, I would agree that the one star was an unfair assessment. And I said okay service because it was great until other people came in and then we were left in the dust. So instead of great or horrible, I said it was okay. Would you prefer that I state my overall experience with the service was...

Been eating with this restaurant since it was South Seas up the road. Ordered so much to go sushi we had to set a limit on ourselves to once a month. And now we've eaten here for the last time.

Two adults, 2 kids. We ordered apps, sushi, sweet and sour shrimp, and two orders of fried rice for the kids. The food starts coming out, one dish at a time. Then, with one dish still to come, everything stops. Waitress is asked for ginger sauce, and also asked if the chicken fried rice for one of the kids is still coming. Yep.

We get brought 2 additional shrimp toast, no ginger sauce or fried rice.

Finally get the sauce, no rice. That rice still coming? Yep.

Then, eventually, she comes back with the ticket. Fried rice? Oh, I didn't put that in.

Then she just. Looks at us.

The child still needs to eat? Well, the kitchen is really busy.

The child. Needs. To. Eat. We are halfway done with our meals.

We were fighting to get to go boxes when her food finally arrived.

The best part is when the bill finally arrives and that chicken fried rice is on there. You're joking, right?

Manager says unless you disliked the meal, you have to pay for the food we forgot then took an hour to bring when everyone else was done. Note to future customers who experience this: you don't like the meal. Apparently Koi's wants you to lie.

They'll be another abandoned building in Slidell shortly, at this rate. Chinese places abound around here, as do sushi...

Tonight, 4/15/20. at approximately 6:41pm, my youngest Son's Mother placed a take-out order over the phone with Koi's. She told me that it would be ready for pick up in 20 to 25 minutes. Looking at the time, it was 6:44pm. I arrived at Koi's around 7:16pm. There was a line stretched across their parking lot. A young man and lady appeared to be swapping off taking orders, and taking them inside. While the cars were directed to park in parking lot spaces. I pulled ahead and told the young lady who I was, and I was there to pick up my order. She directed me to the rear of the line of people placing orders. She ran inside. When I saw her again, I told her I was told my food was ready, and I did not intend to spend any time waiting for my food, while it grew cold. She became flustered, saying something to the effect that she couldn't take it. Well, neither would I. I spent an hour waiting for my order, several days prior, at another restaurant, and I did not plan to do so again. We were given a time to expect our food to be ready for pick. Were even asked to describe the vehicle coming to receive the food. And when I arrived, to go wait in an order line? No, I...

I've lived in Slidell off of Airport Drive for a year now and I'm not sure how I didn't know about Koi's. I was of the influence for years that Sushi as good or better than Rock-N-Sake in the Warehouse district simply didn't exist...and I've traveled the Sushi-World over. Was I WRONG! Koi's was a remarkable breath of fresh air...and less than 5 minutes from my house! The service was flawless. They have a dynamite Squid Salad that is sadly under-available at too many sushi restaurants. My wife wouldn't even look at my squid salads past, but I made her try it and she ate half. The roll selection was delightfully overwhelming! It took us a half hour to figure out what we wanted, but the pan fried dumplings kept us delicious company while we decided. We settled on the Kokomo, the LSU, the Dirty South and the Supa Dupa Crunchy with the Kokomo being our unanimous favorite (though the LSU was a tie for me) Amazing all of them! We will return...often.

I give it 5 stars for the good sushi at the best deal I know of! Go for happy hour sushi! Get a roll for 3.99 if regularly 6.50 or less! The waitress was super sweet! The rolls took no time to come out! Tried my first raw tuna roll here and I actually liked it! Update: You can also get 3 rolls that are 6.50 or less, a cucumber and crab salad, with miso soup for dinner for about 16 bucks. I got 2 tuna rolls, and a Philly roll that has smoked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. All the rolls are fresh! We also got the fried dumplings as an appetizer, you need one dumpling for each hand! They are that good! Miso soup is phenomenal! The salad is an acquired taste. I love dipping my rolls in spicy mayo. I included pics of all on the dinner combo and fried dumplings!

Koi's is definitely one of my favorite places to order sushi 🍣 from on the Northshore. The service is always great and the waitresses are always down to earth. I came in to treat myself and it did not disappoint as usual. There is enough space for a small group or to eat with another. 🍴 I had the🐉Dragon Roll (which I don't believe is on the menu anymore) and it was/is always amazing. It is filling and the chef is talented as the roll is in the shape of dragon. If you are hungry when you eat this, you won't be if you can finish and get through it lol. The sweet & sour chicken and mandarin chicken is also good. All in all, I don't see any options on this menu you would be disappointed in. Enjoy yourself should you decide to eat here.
