I was visiting New Orleans for my birthday celebration and everything about my vacation was amazing aside from the service received at the Outback store location #1912. On 1/2 at 1207p per my receipt, I ordered a 22 Porter steak meal with house mashed potatoes and mac and cheese-as well as an appetizer and my friend also ordered a meal. i requested my steak to be well down and once received it was bloody. The waiter Tyson was great-in fact I still tipped him after a horrible experience. When my meal was brought back it was given to me by proprietor Heather Sakowski who barely apologized for the issue and when she brought the meal back I not only had a still bloody steak, but my mashed potatoes came back loaded which I do not eat as well do to the bacon-pork being added. Finally my meal came back as requested however my steak was completely dried out and burnt. By this time I requested my meal to go and was unaware until I left the facility. My question is what is your protocol for my meal being incorrect 3 times because Heather did NOTHING. She barely apologized and did not offer not even a minimal discount. I dine all the time and Outback is one of my favorite restaurants. I'm a counselor and Human Services and I help everyone, I can only help but feel that if I looked like Heather(me being African American) that my experience would be different. I got the most expensive steak on the menu so money isn't the problem, however for it to be incorrect 3 times and the manager not care to even offer ANYTHING as a courtesy, I strongly feel this was wrong and unsettling. I brought it to Tyson's attention who agreed and I explained to him it's not his fault but what is a manager's protocol when this happens? Tyson took off the steak and I appreciate his gesture but it was not his duty to do so. I want to know why the manager did nothing and barely apologized. My question is for Heather , if I looked like you would you have responded...
Read moreThis is 2 separate visits to this Outback Slidell, LA. The 1st was a weekday lunch, 2nd weekend dinner. Neither were good experiences. Lunch was salad and steak for 2. The rolls were like cardboard, not fresh or warm. The salad was drowned in gobs of blue cheese dressing, I didn't ask for extra. I tried to pick out some lettuce but gave up when I noticed the mushy-rotten cucumbers in the salad. The steaks were awful. We both got filets, medium rare. Mine was cooked well and my daughters was completely raw. There were only a few tables, the waiter had disappeared, I waited for several minutes and waved down the hostess. She brought a plate, took the steak back to the kitchen, where they microwaved it instead of cooking a new steak correctly. It looked awful. My daughter ate her fries and bread for lunch. I also had rice that was cold and tasted like undercooked Uncle Ben's minute rice. The manager came around and I told him, the salad would have made me sick and neither steak was cooked correctly. He even said the microwaved steak looked nasty. He apologized and said this was not acceptable and offered gift cards. I didn't want a free lunch, I just wanted lunch.
Visit #2 was a month later, dinner, weekend. Busy but no wait, 5 people. The steaks were again ruined. This time none were cooked to order, everybody got well done. But the problem was the thick layer of too salty-really spicy cajun seasoning heaped on the steaks, that no one ordered. I've never had spicy seasoning on an Outback steak, it might have been ok if it was just a little, there was a layer. The kids refused to eat it, the adults couldn't either. 2nd time we left and had to get food...
Read moreTook my family here on 8/10/2018 and thats the date of the last time I will EVER step foot back i,to an Outback Steakhouse !! After a 25 minute wait outside to be seated, we waited another hour and a half for our entrees to be served. The blooming onion that was delivered as the appetizer was over fried and greasy. The steaks (when they finally was delivered) was either room temp or not as we ordered. The waiter seemed as if he was extremely anxious to return home to his meth pipe and couldnt stay focused on a single request for another napkin. The prices were very steep, which was perfectly fine in the beginning when we thought we were going to be rewarded with equal value in dinner. It was a far cry from enjoyable and I will not be visiting this place again. The manager did try to apologize for the service but it was too little too late. We literally watched a party come in, be seated, eat their appetizers, eat their entrees, be brought the bill, exit and their table be cleared, all before we were served a single entree. Horrible experience and horrible food. My steak was brought back out, still raw in the middle and charred black on the outside. Didnt even eat it. If your considering this place, visit the next parking lot (Texas Roadhouse) or go to Fremeaux to Longhorns. It will be worth the trip. NEVER EAT AT OUTBACK ON THE SERVICE ROAD...
