They shouldn't even get a one star review. It should be a zero. There is absolutely no professionalism at this establishment. After numerous amounts of time trying to call them to place a to go order I finally decided to drive over. Once I arrived at the waffle house at 12pm, in a way I saw why they were not answering the phone because they were packed. Usually at most waffle houses I go to they always greet you as soon as you walk in the door sometimes the whole shift will greet you all at once, but unfortunately this establishment did not. So their were two customers waiting to check out so I'm waiting behind them to place my order. Now mind you it took another 10 minutes just for someone to come over and start cashing them out. Oh so as she is cashing the customers out the phone rings and another Associates says "don't answer that just let it ring we're busy". *SO I GUESS PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLACE TO GO ORDERS COME LAST." So the lady finishes checking the other guests out and I guess sees that I don't have a ticket in my hand to cash out and decides to walk away (she still never greeted me). So I wait another 7 minutes standing at the register for someone else. This is when Miss Melissa comes up and I asked her I would like to place a to go order she stated that "someone will be with you." So I decide to sit down. Then seconds later Miss Melissa states "someone will be with when it slows down", as she was wiping down the counter. Then another customer who arrived after me sits down at the counter. Miss Melissa greets him and takes his order. SO HERE'S ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHERE A TO GO ORDER CUSTOMER COMES LAST. When I see this I wait to ask another associate can I place a to go order she says the same "someone will be with you." So sit and wait patiently but (angry inside) it's now 12:33pm and finally someone decides to take my order. As I'm waiting still I see an elderly couple come in they wait 10 mins and are seated. Now people are cashing out and the place is starting to get a little slower. Its now 1245pm this is when Miss Melissa gives the customer who arrived after me his food. Then Miss Melissa comes over and says "ok I'm ready to take your order now." I tell her "I have already been helped." SO I GUESS WHEN THE WAITER IS IN THE RIGHT MOOD OR I HAVE TO BE A TIPPING CUSTOMER IN ORDER TO BE SERVED BY MISS MELISSA. So it's now 1250pm the phone rings again and it's slower now the same associate says "don't answer that." SO HERE AGAIN A CUSTOMER CALLING TO PLACE A TO GO ORDER COMES LAST. So it's 1255pm and now I see the elderly couple that came in after me are finally served with their food before me. ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW THE TO GO ORDER COMES LAST. So it's now 0105pm and finally my order is ready from what they say. I look in the bag and they got my toast wrong (I wanted raisin toast) so now we go back to waiting. At 0115pm my order is officially ready. In short I love waffle house but unfortunately this establishment does not care about the customer and has no once of professionalism and I will not...
Read moreFirst of all not having a way to call and speak with a person is stupid. Having no choice but to order online is fine if there is a place for special requests. I can't eat crunchy food so, I needed to relay how I needed the hashbrowns to be cooked. I fully understand being busy and having to wait my turn for my order, which I'm fine with 100%. I went to the register to try and let them know what I needed before the cook dropped the food on the grill because I could see it wasn't already cooking. I waited behind the person already there and when it was my turn, the waitress that is very clearly tweaking on meth...and I'm not saying that lightly just to be mean...I'm just absolutely positive, tried telling me to move and wait so she could cash out another customer. I told her no because I was standing there several minutes before that customer ever stood up. Told her the request for my food, she never relayed it to the cook. A couple of minutes later, I call over the other waitress trying to tell her and rather than listen, she cut me off with how they're busy and other orders are ahead of mine. I told her I'm aware and that wasn't what I was trying to say. I told her and she never relayed it to the cook. Called the cook over because what I had ordered almost an hour ago right now as I type this, was putting the exact meat I ordered on the grill so she very politely said no problem. It's been like 15 minutes and I'm thinking any minute my order will be handed to me. Instead, they come tell me they're out of what I ordered and now I've had to order something completely different. This place is horrifying and the one that I mentioned previously that's full on tweaking that treated me like I didn't matter is in the shirt that indicates sadly that she's the manager on duty. Why do these well known and very popular restaurants allow anyone to work when they're very clearly working high as a kite, no teeth, jaw moving rapidly side to side, and only a few teeth in her mouth...much less...
Read moreI just left Waffle House on Gause Blvd just off I-10, The short order cook was the only employee in the building. No waitresses, no grill helper, no dishwasher, no counter cleaning getting done. BLT with burnt bacon, green tomatoes, my waffle was served in a cardboard box to cut down on dirty plates, the lone cook would have to wash. Dishes stacked higher than the counter. Pieces of food all over the cooking area most of the tables and counters. And through no fault of Waffle House, some old guy coughing, hacking and blowing his adenoids out of his noes sitting alone in a booth clearly marked "for more than one person". The card board box was handy, because I threw everything in it and got the hell out of there. Cook was polite, and trying to do everything, trying to serve customers but he was spread pretty thin, poor guy, he looked and acted like he was pretty tired, just going through the motions. I have walked in at other times with no one other than the cook present but someone would come out of the back to wait on me and mine. Today, there was no...
