The first time going I was with a friend having drinks at the bar enjoying chips , salsa and bean dip. The bartender was absolutely wonderful. I decided to give it a second try since my daughter picked where she wanted to go out to dinner. The waitress was absolutely awful (didn't even provide her name). She was very dismissive and rude. If anyone had a question about the food her response was "I don't know". I was nothing but respectful towards her. She took so long to come back to our table to even get our order, which we had to flag the manager down to ask for her. My 8 year old daughter is very picky and I had made easy requests which were not executed. One of the runners politely said she would get it fixed and we could have the original item brought out. Then the waitress came back and I explained to her what happened and then she had the nerve to attempt to grab said item off my plate, I realized what she was trying to do and started removing it off my plate. I then asked to speak to the manager which he was very professional and took care of us. However, he made an excuse for her stating she had a 20 top. That is not an excuse! She could have asked another server to pick our table up if she was overwhelmed. I hate complaining and just wanted to have a nice dinner with my daughter. Also, it took the manager to get my drinks that I ordered with the food and didn't get them until after speaking with him. Food was mid and over priced as well as the margaritas I received. I will say the salsa was very good with a good spice and the bean dip complimented the chips and salsa very well. Idk if I'll go back anytime soon but definitely will be sure she's not my server. It seemed that by the manager's response it was not the first time someone has made a complaint against her. He even switched our table to another server. She really made my experience as well as my daughter's...
Read moreAwesome food, on a quest to find something on the menu that is not tasty. The Birrio Tacos are superb, flavorful and makes happy taste buds. The burrito grande is truly grand. The bean dip could be a meal by itself. Fast becoming my go to Mexican food place in Slidell. Addendum, it's been now 4 months since my first visit. Dined at Las Morritas once a week naturally sticking to my favorites. It's still my go to place in Slidell. I recommend the entire menu now that I've tried it all. Just saying went to visit my once has been Mexican food favorite after the Tornado (only place in Town open) and it absolutely s....d was not a good experience. Super salty and unapetizing. Very crowded tho......no place else to go. Don't think I'll go there again. So it's been months since I first enjoyed Las Morritas food and atmosphere. Still a great taste and in addition we now have margaritas. Very nice addition. Highly recommend a Margaritas with dinner or lunch. Still doing my weekly visit and the cuisine hasn't changed. Raul the manager has been a joy as has the entire staff. Go see for yourself. Nothing fancy but lacking nothing. Unfortunately recently a fire forced the closure of Las Morritas on Taco Tuesday. I passed up lunch to go at dinner time. Big mistake as the fire happened after lunch and before dinner. Thank the lord no one was hurt. I feel Rauls pain and misery. Hopefully the business can recover. When it does I'll be a...
Read moreCame here for the first time on Cinco De Mayo with a party of 9 and baby. Showed up at 545 and was told there was gonna be a 30 minute wait. Wasn’t too many people inside at 545. 615 came and people started showing up. More and more parties of 4-6 people were seated but not my group. We waited for 2 hours to be seated. Ordering drinks from the bar was terrible. Took 10-20 minutes to just order and get a drink from the bar. We eventually were seated and ordered immediately. Initial food took an hour to come out and an hour and 15 mins for it to all come out together.
Server didn’t seem like they really wanted to be a great server. They came around 2 times on their own (to order food and bring us food) the other times it was because someone at our table flagged them down.
I understand it was cinco de mayo but you should be taking care of your customers and explaining to them you’re sorry about the inconvenience.
Wasn’t comped for anything and was told by the manager we would receive a couple free margaritas but those never came.
Not entirely sure I’ll come back to this establishment again. Not trying to bash on the establishment but just want to share my experience. Seemed as if we were forgotten about or not cared for to make a good...
