Waffle House — Restaurant in Smyrna

To start, I was ordering a lunch/ dinner hashbrown bowl and the server says "grits or hashbrowns"...??? An I repeated a chicken melt hashbrown bowl,to which she repeated "grits or hashbrowns" after 3 rounds of this I finally said I was unaware the chicken melt hashbrown bowl came with the option of grits."That's what I said grits or hashbrowns". Ok so moving forward, my meal had eggs, of which I ordered over medium. When at the grill, no grill op in sight, she asks if I want cheese in my scrambled eggs. I restated they were over medium. I ended up with over well eggs, burnt toast, no onions in my chicken melt. Being a former salesperson from the Tallapoosa 1212 store and familiar with the tick add up process, I had already figured up my ticket cost which would get her a 2.49 gratuity. Not anticipating the order to be as messed up as it turned out and being she took my order and cooked it I put an additional dollar with the 25 that would have left her with minimum 1.80 in addition to her 2.49 gratuity already getting, though her failure to complete the addition on the ticket I anticipate she didn't even put it down as a Togo order and just pocketed the gratuity and tip as soon as I had left. Having told her rounds keep the change she glances over it, huffy, an says um yeah I can keep 80 cents. I will be contacting the corporate office in the morning an wish she had been wearing her name tag to have the name. My family wasn't pleased with the food and I very unpleased with the service. I would make the trip back up to the location but being it's merely the middle of her shift I'd just suffer the same or worse attitude and...

Let me start out by saying that I eat at Waffle House regurally. I’ll also add that I am not from the Marietta area; though i was on the way home from a long road trip and thought this would be the perfect way to ease my hunger. Goodness was I ever wrong. I was seated immediately and my beverage came out quickly. I asked for the omelette menu and my delightful server Joy gave me one. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette with a side of hashbrowns (toast comes with it as well). I started chowing down on the hashbrowns and toast first. Both were exellent! Though that’s the only redeeming quality of my meal. The omlette i recieved may have been one of the most unappetizing foods i’ve ever been given at a restaurant. The ham was quite literally black. The omelette itself was brown and tasted almost like rubber. Very overcooked. Lastly, there was a strand of hair on top of my omelette. I noticed that Rhyse the cook didn’t have a beard guard so presumably that’s where it must’ve came from. I believe the other cook’s name was Garth. His hashbrowns and toast were great, no complaints there. I told Joy my issues with the omelette, and she comp’d it without me even asking. I was very gracious of this. As soon as i left the store, i felt sick to my stomach and threw up outside. Yeah, it was that bad. Will not be coming back here ever again, and i’ll see it as such that i tell all my friends within proximity of it to steer clear if they want anything with ham...

We didn’t even eat because our server was so rude. We walked in and some customers told us that they were cutting off seating on the side of the restaurant where we sat so we moved to the bar just be courteous just in case they were right. We sat at the bar and understood they were short staffed so we waited. The black guy last night was our server. And there was a lady on the grill. She was doing great and trying her best but this guy was just rude beyond belief. I get being frustrated but taking it out on us was so uncalled for. After some time waiting we were able to order. I gave him my order and the vibes were so tense. My boyfriend gave his order and as he was getting the details of his order the server asked what type of toast and if he wanted grits or hash browns. The server asks in a condescending tone “have you ever been to Waffle House” my boyfriend replied yes and the server says “ I can’t tell”. It wasn’t sarcasm it was him being so rude and disrespectful beyond belief. I never write bad reviews but this was warranted. Never coming back...
