It's a sunday morning. So I expect it to be to crowded as it normally is when I come here after church. I came alone and this time told they didnt have any seats and if I would mind seating at the bar. I was shown to the bar passing one "empty" table for 2. I get to the bar and notice 4 more empty seats for 2 along the wall. I ask the server behind the bar if those seats were open and he said yes they are always open. I place my order and waited...waited and waited. Never once did my server come over and say anything to me regarding the now 15 minute wait for my bacon, hashbrowns and 2 scrambled eggs with cheese. He went back and forth from the kitchen in between his drinking soda from the machine. Now we are knocking on almost 20 minutes. Mind you I have been here at least once a month on a sunday for about 8 to 9 months and I have never waited this long. My food is finally brought to me and my server sits the plate down he asks does everything look alright? My immediate reply " it will be if my eggs are hot." His reply " It is because the plate was hot". I was asked if I needed anything and I asked for A1 sauce. Just by looking at the eggs with cheese I could tell it was cold. I tasted them to be sure and the hashbrowns were cold as well. He apologised and said that he would fix it. I declined and left and sat in the parking lot giving this review. Not only did my server make eye contact with me several times throughout my extremely long wait and NEVER said anything. He even said something to the dark haired woman who was behind the bar area as well who then gave eye contact too. I knew my food had been sitting waiting. At this point I just wanted to see how long this would go on. I have never been waited on by the girl at the register who said there were no seats nor the server. Normally the same few people serve me and everything would be great. But today I really felt they didn't want me there, ignored and deliberately lied to twice by two different people. Even though I have been coming here for months it only took this one instance to have me not to ever come back. It seemed off from the moment I walked in. Majority of the time I am normally the only black person there when I visit and I have always felt I was treated the same. But today was...
Read moreI was looking up a breakfast place because I have to take my medicine with food and I really really didn't want drive thru or WaHo or Ihop....happened to find this place recommended as nearby breakfast and after mixed reviews thought I'd give it a try.
The small Cons first. (Some of these are personal taste/preference):
The sweet tea is not Southern Sweet Tea so that made me sad.
They also do not offer any Iced coffees which I was surprised as it is a breakfast place but it may not be a big request so that is understandable as well.
My three bigger cons:
My first fork was dirty but I was given a new one quickly after asking (second one was clean so no big deal)
the server did send back correctly my eggs scrambled well but they were not actually well (again this could be their version of well so not that big of a deal) and was not the servers fault as she did put in the order correctly.
I was sat not to far from the door so a fly did get in and land on one of my pieces of pancake and then on top of the syrup bottle which I asked the server to remove so it can be cleaned but that really does make one lose their appetite rather quickly so I just asked to take what was left to go....
Now for The pros:
The food didn't take long maybe 12 minutes and this was at 9:30AM so I was surprised it wasn't a bit busier.
The corned beef hash was by far one of the best I have had in a LONG time they grill it I'm guessing but it has a nice crunch/crust layer on the outside which was super good.
The pancake I ordered with blueberries had whole large blueberries in it not the tiny melt away kind that you find in most places and it was pretty large of a pancake.
Overall: (tldr)
The servers were very sweet, the breakfast food was great and didn't take long at all ...if it does I'm sure it's because they are busy. Absolutely will be back but next time I'll ask to sit further away from...
Read moreI don’t like giving not so good reviews, however I have to share that the experience was not good. We waited for an hour and twenty minutes to eat. Our order was taken with in 20 minutes of us sitting down. Some church members of ours came in 30 minutes after we did. We were seated in the back room, they were seated in the front. After an hour I decided to check on our church friends to see if they had eaten. To my surprise they were eating, It was 9 in their party and 7 in ours. There was an older gentleman and his grandson in the same area that we were seated in. They ended up leaving because it took entirely to long. Their food was brought out and sat on the table after they left. So once our food came out some of it was cold, some of it was hot. Our waitress asked if we needed anything else and my daughter said yes I ordered bacon, eggs and her pancakes. The waitress then replied. I can give you the pancakes off of that table if you want because they left. My daughter said no thanks. In the meantime they fed my granddaughter who is 23 months food from the meals that had already came out. They were out of hash browns and the waitress wanted to up charge us $1.50 for something different because they didn’t have what the menu stated came with the meal. My daughters bacon finally came and it was burnt to a crisp. We paid and the cashier said is that all that you are going to tip. How rude. Unfortunately we won’t be back. The entire facility need a major overhaul. Chairs had holes in them and the floors were dirty. Maybe it was an off day for the...
