I've only had the slices here and they're really good. I think about them on days that I'm not eating them. That can't be healthy.
However, the toppings have been undercooked everytime. When I've been there, cheese pizzas are half-baked and set aside to cool. When a slice-order comes in, the chef takes a slice of the half-baked pizza, tops it, and throws it in the oven for the remaining half of the bake-time. This is great for the crust, sauce, and cheese, but not so much for the toppings, which have only had half a trip through the oven. This also means that there's no top-cheese to hold the whole thing together. Avalanches are a danger, I'm afraid.
Anyway, this might be different during peak hours. I'm not sure. And it certainly wouldn't be a problem for a whole pizza order (though there appears to be a fair number of photos of undercooked pies on this site). But it's an eensy-weensy bummer for me.
Still, I'm not complaining. I'm glad I can get pizza by the slice in Snohomish and the Cathouse variety is super-tasty. It's...
Read moreI've mentioned in other reviews how hard it is to find good pizza in WA. Something about the water makes the crust not as good as it is on the East coast and the crust is by far the most important part. These guys are solid though. I love the ambiance and the pizza is great. Solid topping selection and the sauce is very good. The crust is above average for WA but not consistently crispy yet chewy like a perfect crust should be. Please don't take that as too negative though. They do very well despite the geographic challenges and I'd say that there aren't many places that could be considered better in the entire region.
If you want a Hawaiian pizza, this is your best bet in Snohomish County since Brooklyn Bros doesn't offer ham or pineapple toppings. I will eat most pizza toppings but one of my favorites is something I created that I call the "Hot Hawaiian" It has ham, pepperoni, pineapple and some sort of peppers, preferably jalopeno. These guys do a great job of making that...
Read moreCathouse pizza is in Snohomish in the downtown waterfront district by the Snohomish River. The parking in front is on the street and can be difficult to find a spot. Cathouse Pizza is on a street of many restaurants and various retail businesses, so you can enjoy walking and shopping for antiques to have lunch or dinner at the Cathouse. Pizza is the star food here. The pizza is thin crust New York style, very crispy. With a variety of toppings, these pizzas offer a good bite on good size slices. The only drawback for some people might be the outside crust is a little too crispy bordering on hard. You can buy a whole pie or drop in for a slice and a drink. There is a bar area to sit at and enjoy a beer or something else. The store itself is kind of small and narrow and can get crowded. The wall art is nice showing off Seattle sport's memorabilia. The inside of the place may be smallish, but it has a very cozy feel. Good food and good times make Cathouse Pizza a place...
