I worked in the restaurant industry for close to 20 years and it takes a lot for me to post a negative review of any restaurant. That being said, my daughter and I were at the Oxford during a festival and we knew it was going to be a long wait for our food. While waiting I ordered a bloody Mary which came to me with a burnt piece of bacon and no other garnish. After waiting for close to half an hour for our food, the server brought the wrong items. My daughter was not feeling well so I asked for the corrected items could be made to go. Once the server brought the bag of food to us, I counted the number of boxes without looking inside the boxes and we left. We live over 20 minutes away from Snohomish and when we got home and opened our food we found all three entrees had completely burnt fries and my hamburger bun was black and the hamburger itself was black on the outside and completely raw on the inside to the point that it was inedible (and I love rare steak and hamburgers). I paid close to $100 for the three entrees, a drink and a dessert and the only thing that was worth the money was the dessert and the $20 tip because the server's what's super sweet. I tried it to contact the restaurant via their website and by phone call about my food and no one ever contacted me back.

Very fun atmosphere for weekend dinners. The food, especially their burgers, is delicious. They have a limited food menu but a great drink selection. They have a nice selection of local beers on tap. Live music on the weekends. They also have pool and darts downstairs and an open- air drinking area. Great, historical spot!

I love downtown Snohomish, whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner, walking around, whatever, so it was time to check out happy hour. First stop of two, The Oxford Saloon. As you can see from the photos it has an appeal; that image carries on within its walls as locals stop in (I should say regulars as I’m a local) to have a beer and head home. It has that feel - it’s still local. And since parking is typically awful I figured locals would avoid downtown. And they may, but certainly don’t avoid the Oxford. Sitting at the bar was nice. It was busy so we didn’t get to talk with the bartender, and customers were coming and going, but it still had a chill vibe. My only reason for the 4 stars on the food was the cocktails were just fine. I like to have a well drink and then the bar’s speciality and for neither of us did that go too well. Maybe it’s because cocktails are just plain excellent in Puget Sound bars and the expectation is high? But these weren’t the best. But that’s me letting you know not to expect world class, and downtown Snohomish has world class cocktails. But aside from that, I highly recommend The Oxford Saloon to everyone near the area.

My wife and I have eaten here twice, and attempted a third time this last weekend. In the first two times, I though the food was pretty good, but the service is so slow you have to wonder if the staff is moving at the pace they do on purpose, like it's part of the novelty or something. But yesterday we got there at around 1:15 with our 4 year old son, with plenty of time to eat and then meet our friends to pick pumpkins at 2:30. We easily found an open table, and sat down. My wife ordered a burger, I ordered fish tacos and we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my son. By the time 1:45 rolled around, with no food in sight, we were starting to get frustrated, and worried we would not make it to the farm on time. My son, bless his little heart, was holding up like a trooper. As one dish arrived at 1:55, which was his grilled cheese sandwich, we saw that it had barely been thrown on the grill enough to brown the bread, and the cheese was completely uncooked and still in slices. The other food never made it to the table, as I took the plate back to the waitress. I told her of the condition of my son's sandwich, who was now crying because he was so hungry and literally had this sandwich pulled out from under his eyes. She looked at me and said "sorry about that", with a look that sort of said "yeah, this happens a lot here". We burned through almost an entire hour waiting for food that should've been 15 minutes to our table, tops. We never ate there, decided to walk over to First and Union Kitchen, where the service was perfect and the food was delicious. Needless to say, we did not make our pumpkin window. And that was the third strike...

I was extremely disappointed with the way we were treated at this establishment. My friends and I had already ordered food — steak and prawns — and were prepared to pay. However, when we questioned the service, the situation escalated. Instead of handling things professionally, the waitress declared that we were “cut off,” smashed my drink, and even refused to serve another member of our party based solely on my friend’s comments.

Part of the issue stemmed from a miscommunication. The waitress indicated that she “didn’t want the person to barf,” but my friend did not understand what she was referring to. This created confusion and a disconnect in communication. Instead of clarifying, the staff assumed the worst and acted on that assumption, which was both unnecessary and unprofessional.

Afterward, we went across the street to another bar, where we were treated respectfully and without judgment. The contrast made it clear how poorly we were treated here.

While I understand that establishment has the right to refuse service, the way it was carried out was rude, presumptive, and self-righteous. Their actions not only embarrassed us but also cost them business. As a hardworking mother enjoying a night out and discriminated against. No customer deserves to be treated in such a degrading way.To also state it’s illegal to be intoxicated was false public intoxication is not illegal. If we were causing a problem then in that case public intoxication would have been...

My friend's band was playing here so I thought I'd stop by . When I walked up to the door , there were two or three people standing well down the sidewalk to the right smoking and chatting. I offered my ID to the door man/bouncer/whatever and he got up right in my face and rudely said " Hey, if you think you are getting in, you need to get in line and wait LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE ! " I looked at the pack of smokers about 15 feet down the sidewalk and said "wow, I didn't realize that circle of people smoking way over there was a line,SMART ASS ! " and walked away , with all my money I was going to spend there.

All this idiot should have said was "hey, we got a short wait, so hang out for a second and we'll get you in" , or something to that effect, but he seized the opportunity to be a dick about it instead. Especially frustrating because the "line" wasn't anything even close to resembling a line, to begin with...and what crowded bar doesn't have a gaggle of people out smoking in front of it these days, anyway ?

This was on Saturday , 01-30-16 at around 9:00pm. I hope the owners read this because they really need to think twice about posting a jerk like that at the front door to run off customers with his pissy attitude. I will make it a point to avoid the Oxford from now on...not like there aren't half a dozen other places that I can spend my money within a...
