Great food, but a bad experience with the host has soured us on going here. We recently tried to pop in last minute for dinner, and as expected they were quite busy. We didn't really expect to get a table right away, but were told there would be no dining tonight without a reservation. Since we didn't have a reservation we went elsewhere and waited for the rest of our party to show up. They then were able to walk in, and ask for a table, to which they were told that it'd be a 30 minute wait...so apparently not reservations only, the host just didn't like us I guess. We came back 30 minutes later and were seated. Dinner was great (although they were out of some of the things we tried to order) and the wait staff was friendly. However, at the end of the meal, after paying our bill and as we were waiting for a ride to show up, we politely requested some more water from our server as we waited, and that we would be leaving very shortly as soon as our ride arrived (making it clear that we were aware that it was getting late). The host himself returned with the water, and very rudely informed us that they were closed, despite the fact that the music was still playing just as loud as it had been all night, the lighting had not changed, and the bar was still completely full, with everyone carrying on and having a grand old time. The exchange was extremely disrespectful to a party that had waited very patiently to be seated and had just spent quite a bit of money on dinner and drinks. I love the food at the Repp and wait staff and bartenders have always been very friendly, but after this experience I don't think we will be going back, which is a shame because it's always been a go-to date night...
Read moreWe came here for my 33rd Birthday dinner this past Sunday. Food was very, very good. My wife got the Prawn Risotto & I got the Wagyu Burger. Would recommend both. I have had Wagyu Burgers at other places that were not nearly as good, to the point I wondered if it was Wagyu at all!
The drink pours are NOT stingy, and the drinks are VERY good. Usually if I order anything reminiscent of an Old Fashioned I am disappointed when we go out as generally mine are pretty good.
I tried 2 different whiskey cocktails on their menu, one with Bourbon, one with Rye. Both were outstanding. My wife’s drink was made with Gin & Lavender I believe and was also quite good.
I’d love to give 5⭐️s, but we were seated next to an extremely loud and intoxicated group of women who were practically shrieking, and then a high school reunion party (also screaming because the recognized their server as a classmate). It was probably the loudest dinner environment I have ever been in, and we paid a sitter to get some adult time away from our 2 year old (who also tends to shriek…because he’s 2).
I couldn’t really talk to my wife for most of dinner because they were so loud. They were getting glances from a lot of other patrons, as well as the bar staff and nobody really said anything to them. I debated asking to move but didn’t want to be a squeaky wheel.
All said, great place food and drink wise. We may come back if the atmosphere doesn’t...
Read moreThe food is above par - pretty good actually. But the attitude of front host, which i believe is the owner on account he is ALWAYs there, somewhat ruins the whole thing.
Scenario 1 - you have a reservation- the front host is friendly, greeting you at the door. You are guided to your table with a smile.
Scenario 2 - you don't have a reservation - you are a mere peasant, and you don't deserve respect. You are welcome to wallow in the garbage cans behind the restaraunt, but you aren't of the class required for this establishment. The front host makes this abundantly clear with a rude attitude filled to the brim with condescending tone.
This is something we've experienced far more than once. If reservations are required - make it an actual policy. Even so, treat your potential customers with respect.
My wife and a friend attempted to dine here tonight without a reservation, and once again were treated like they didn't deserve to set foot in the establishment. Elitism at its worst.
We've eaten here a dozen times over the years. Tonight was the last time- you've lost a customer simply because you...
