Swirl Wine Bar — Restaurant in Solon

I'm not very picky when it comes to restaurants, usually enjoy everywhere I go. But I have never been treated so poorly. Food and drinks are good. But the service is awful. We called in asking how long to get a table and were told 45 minutes. It was Valentine's day and we're a young couple that were wanting a romantic dinner. We were sat at a single spot at the bar for over an hour and a half. They refused to seat us at a table even though there were two open tables in the main dining room, and sat other older couples at tables that walked in after we had been sitting there for an hour or more. We asked the owner after waiting if we could get a table and he seemed irritated that we asked and said "Well see". I can only guess that they didn't want to give us a table because we're in our twenties and they assumed we wouldn't spend much money. Not a great way to spend Valentine's day. Avoid this place when it's busy if you're young! Save yourself the time and money and get better food and service at...

I really liked this place. I'm not a wine drinker but my date was. I was impressed with their selection of scotch and bourbon. The atmosphere was incredible - they really fixed up there original house in a quaint way. The evening was especially cool because we sat next to the fireplace and could see snow falling out the window. The staff was very friendly and efficient.

For dinner, I had a flatbread which I wish I could remember the name of it but it had sausage and real parmesan cheese on it. It was excellent! The only blemish was mmt date's meal. She got the fish special on a bed if broccolini. The fish was bland and the broccolini was way over cooked to the point that a few of the pieces were actually burnt. She didn't want to say anything so we let it go. I mention this because I was surprised that it was actually served - I would never serve anything that looked remotely burnt.

Second visit prices went up alot at least 20 percent. Almost too expensive for a Thursday evening meeting with friends our bill was over 100 dollars for 3 drinks each- 1 martini 13.00 on discount night two wine 9.00 each for two people an appetizer we shared my friend got an appetizer for dinner and i had a salad with a piece or very dry chicken on it. The salad was tiny . I really loved this place the first time 1 year ago we went but this visit 2 weeks ago and it was not great and our bill was not correct they gave it to the wrong table then brought the correct bill to us which was higher after we had paid.
