Yours Truly Solon — Restaurant in Solon

I haven't eaten at a YT in over a decade. I'm glad I visited today. The host was friendly and was mindful to seat me closer to the door and by an outlet as I have a disability and had a portable oxygen tank. Very thoughtful.

My server was Carisa. She was very nice. She was split between bartending and serving. I wish she would've come back to check a bit more, yet I understood that she was literally doing 2 jobs at once. It was kind of hard to get her attention.

The Mocktail, the New Fashioned was overpriced. It was literally just unsweet tea with an orange slice and luxardo cherry in a cocktail low ball glass. Either it should be served in a larger glass or have bitters or something else added to it. I added equal to make it more palatable.

My food was amazing! The Broccoli Cheese soup had fresh broccoli and was velvety. Perfectly seasoned. My entree the Rock n Roll was cooked perfectly to the temp I asked. The onions were caramelized and julienned. I added cheddar which was a thick cut slice. The saffron rice was fluffy, beautifully golden and delicious. The Asian veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy and pea pods) were SO good. They were slightly charred and tossed in teriyaki sauce. The wasabi sauce (asked for it on the side) is addictive. Truly umami. I just wished the pea pods were trimmed. I asked for teriyaki sauce to dip the burger patty in, then dipped it in the wasabi sauce. Flavor explosion! I also appreciate that the ciabatta roll was lightly toasted.

The apple pie wasnt too sweet and had nice flaky crust. I just realized my cinnamon ice cream wasn't included.

I look forward to coming back soon. I used to eat at the Gates Mills location a lot in my youth especially for breakfast. Can't wait to get some...

Giving this location 2 stars after my first visit there today. I was so excited to here yours truly was coming to Solon but after today I was totally disappointed. The food and service were great but as for the design of the restaurant itself very poor and doesn't seem well thought out at all. Theres a drive through window that has no buffer between the dining room. So when they open it the tables around it get hit with cold or hot air depending on the season. This station also is a server station that is set up totally wrong and has an ice bin right by the takeout window. Seem weird to you? Well if you sit on the left side of the restaurant as to the front door on a busy day you better not mind people possibly congregating around your table do to the fact of no waiting room or barely any seats to sit in as you wait. The few seats they do have to sit in by the door are just ones the move back and forth from other tables that need or dont need chairs at. It was as if I was watching musical chairs. Then not to mention the servers have no path way to really get through the mob of people congregating by the front door waiting to be seated let alone the runners that run the food they have to bring it through all of that as well unless they choose to squeeze behind the hostess stand because there no other way of getting through. And as for the hostess stand very poorly through out as well. Poor poor design all around just seems like whoever put the blueprints together doesn't understand flow of restaurants. Not my favorite location at all...

Stopped in today with my husband for our anniversary! Waited 5 minutes or so to get sitter not a problem ! The young lady African American came over and walked us to get sitted ! She walked us outside on the patio area pass the bar and asked high chair or meta sit ! I told her I want a booth ! She replied rudely WE DONT HAVE ANY BOOTH AVAILABLE! I looked around and told her I counted 8 Empty booths and she said okay and kept walking away ! I told her I really didn’t have to eat her and she Rudely replied good bye smerking ! I requested a manager she walked away ! I went to another staff and asked for the manager who came out and i voiced my concerns! He offered us a booth and funny enough it was her section with 3 available booth ! We sat for an another 8 minutes after two other guests were sat and provided with drinks ! Another server came and got our order ! He was very polite and prompt and the lady kept coming out to our area saying stuff and making little remarks ! After the 4 time she came to an empty table behind us smiling and smerking while whispering under her breath ! She also had been observed taking to staff in the kitchen who came out of the kitchen looking in our direction! That was it for me ! We decided to leave ! We left the server a generous tip explaining why we couldn’t eat ! We can trust the food ! It’s a very sad experience for me and my hubby on our anniversary but I hope this young lady have this issue...
