Worst meal in Solvang, period. Fried zucchini is small zucchini fries, lukewarm, that come out at $1 PER zucchini fry. Caesar salad is 2 cups of iffy romaine lettuce with a tablespoon of parm shreds on top. Enjoy picking out the bad bits. When you order they'll get your beverage...but leave it sitting on the side and not hand it to you because the kid taking orders doesn't understand that you let the drink sit for call-in orders, but not eat-in. Not recommended for the vegetarians out there, zucchini had some kind of dried out curls of meat (from the fryer or something?). Cashier is handling cash, register, and food with no gloves or any kind of sanitizer, which may be OK for back kitchen staff but not if you're touching food and also money & register. Read moreThe Big Bopper Drive-in serves burgers, fries, shakes, tacos and more in a somewhat run-down fifties atmosphere stand. The owners are friendly and provide quick service. Aside from burgers and tacos, tri tip and other sandwiches are offered, along with fish and chips, burritos and chicken strips. The menu board is large and a bit of a mash up of food genres. The tacos we ordered were good and portions were surprisingly large. The salsa is apparently homemade...and is pretty mild. Pricing is fairly cheap given the prices found at most other restaurants around here. As mentioned the atmosphere is kind of worn... while the outside seating area is brightly painted with chairs and tables on the patio, the stand itself has seen better days. A good place for cheap fare...
