We had paid for a two night stay. I had just paid for and received pizza delivery to fee my family. The manager Jason abruptly disturbed us all by coming to our room and making accusations with no proof of anything anyone in the room had done wrong. My mom and I and my child wanted him to stop talking to us and leave us alone and he wouldn't. He also told me to step out of the room I had told no because I was trying to keep my Allowed pet in the room and didn't want him to run out but Jason wouldn't stop yelling at us the dog got scared and ended up running out and then Jason told me off for having him out of the room off leash? He sounds very unstable mental health issues for sure possibly he was on something. I reported my complaint to the sheriff department and after that they went to speak with him. Not sure the result of it except for the fact staff member did come back later with a giant pack of fresh towels. We finished our evening there so my mom didn't feel her money for the room was wasted but we left promptly the next morning. Never staying there again! The hotel manager Jason is a very crazy individual. He is very lucky my dog didn't attack him to protect us. PS my mom wanted me to add to the review about ants in our room: whenever Anytime snacks or meals were placed on hotel room counter , ants came within minutes and so it was a constant rescue of our food . Terrible place.
The Company just wrote a response to my review and lying about what happened. Jason the manager was aware I did Not want the dog to get out and Jason wouldn't stop harassing my mom And I about some story of a pizza delivery guy which we did not understand what he was talking about At All. but anyways so the dog ran out anyways and he yelled at me for that to get dog back in so . Just Harassing. The reviewer is me and yes me and my mom both had a little wine definitely not inebriated. My mom was afraid by that point from the altercation caused by the manager Jason. Nothing inappropriate with the pizza delivery person that is a lie and yes the manager continues to harass us when we said we wanted to get back to our lunch and he wouldn't drop it he even told me to Stop Speaking! So I told him where to go. You don't talk to guests like that! This is America . The one who called the sheriff's was in fact me the customer. It's on record. After some goodnight sleep we decided The next day to leave as early and as quickly as we possible so we could just get away from that unstable manager. Should not even be titled manager at all, how about loser. I don't recommend anyways stays there. Terrible owners to higher someone unstable like that. Should do thorough background check and psyche exam before higher like they do for...
Read moreI booked a room with two queen beds through Capitol One. When I arrived, they said that on their end it says a single queen room, and they had no other rooms available. They asked to see my confirmation screen, of which I showed them which did say two queen beds. Their response was that it's not their fault, so I have to contact Capitol One.
I called Capitol one, and they said they will speak to the hotel and asked me to call back in 24 hours. I called back in 24 hours, and they said they are still trying to work with the hotel. Apparently, the hotel will not look at it until after we check out. The agent also asked me if the hotel offered any compensation; I said no because they said it's not their fault. The agent was puzzled and said that's not true.
So I called back after we checked out, and Capitol One still has not heard an update from the hotel. They contacted the hotel, of which they said they will not offer anything because I "accepted the terms of the agreement" by staying in the single queen room.
I don't understand all the trouble. If that was going to be the answer, then why go through the trouble of having me check back everyday while I'm trying to enjoy my vacation? It also felt shady to tell me that I "accepted the terms of the agreement" even though there were no other rooms available and they acknolwedged that I was charged a double queen room price for a single queen room.
I don't appreciate the hotel making more money off of me for staying in a downgraded room. I also don't appreciate that they wasted my time checking back daily for an update during my vacation.
Besides the stress they put me through, the beds were comfy and I enjoyed the danishes they provide during breakfast. I also appreciate the text updates for when they have their wine hour. My criticism of the room is that the bathroom is too small as the door hits the sink when you open it. Also, the fireplace didn't radiate any heat, and the controls didn't seem to do anything besides turning the flame on.
As far as location goes, it's a fantastic location. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to this hotel as I lost trust in the booking process of this hotel, as well as lost trust in how hotel manages issues. I hope they can improve for their future guests.
Edit: I forgot to mention that on the first day, the receptionist said the best they can offer is a rollaway bed since there were no other available rooms. It wasn't ideal because rollaway beds are just not very comfy, but I appreciated the offer from the...
Read moreWe booked two rooms (45 and 46) On the website it says that to go to second floor that they were to be an elevator. In our case we were in the second floor and no elevator to get to our room. Would be nice if they ask or specify certain location don’t have them (It would have been great for my elderly grandma to have an elevator to her disposal). Room 45 was very warm borderline hot. We continued to settle and left the room around 430pm. I went to the front desk and told the receptionist about it she said to set it at 63 and it should do if not call them. We got back at 8pm room was still hot. My in laws and grandmother didn’t want to bother as we had a long drive and a long day that they’ll just improvise and slept with no covers on. That same evening I received a text if I wanted my room clean. I replied on time and asked it to be clean around 1pm. Our room 46 was never cleaned our room 45 the trash wasn’t taken out. I had to text for room 45 to get more towels because our room was never clean the receptionist said she would speak to her manager but no manager called or text to apologize.
Breakfast was ok. You would think for the price you pay and what Solvang is all about you would get some of that danish experience but you don’t. Just scramble eggs, dry tatter tots(and we love tatter tots), a very said patty, with bread that you can get from a grocery store.. there’s many bakery stores there with the danish touch I don’t know but you guys can make a business deal with them and give you fresh pastries and danish breakfast style again I don’t know but there’s an idea.
Our first night we had to park in the street cause they didn’t have no more parking in their lot. That was not fun walking a block away with our belongings plus walking up the stairs as I mentioned they said their were to be elevators there.
The only thing I say has going for this place...
