My wife and I were visiting Solvang for the weekend and we decided to book a spot with The Haunt Ghost Tours after reading so many great reviews online. It was totally worth it!
We ended up booking the 8pm slot on a Saturday night which was the perfect time for a ghost tour. As the sun went down and the cooler temperatures rolled in, the quaint, Danish-themed town of Solvang turned into a scene you might picture in a scary movie. Most people had cleared out of the town by then, so it was mainly our group amidst the Christmas decorated shops. John, our guide and leader of the ghost tour, was very knowledgeable as he walked us through the history of Solvang and the stories connected to the town. We learned about haunted buildings, creepy characters, and the troubled past of Solvang. We also witnessed some paranormal activity which was pretty captivating to say the least! I won't give out any details beyond that though haha. The tour lasted around 90 minutes and we were able to explore most of the town at night which was fun to see, especially with all the lights and decorations.
Overall, if you ever find yourself in the Santa Ynez Valley, we highly recommend going on a ghost tour with The Haunt in Solvang. The tour was very entertaining and intriguing as it gave us a better understanding of the history behind Solvang. John was an excellent guide who injected a good deal of humor in his stories which made the tour all that more enjoyable. While the tour is technically for people of all ages, I would say it might be a little scary to some depending on how you view paranormal activity. Nevertheless, my wife and I were engaged the whole time and we had an ultimate blast. We definitely would consider doing it again next time we visit Solvang or another area where the tours are located. Thanks again John and The Haunt...
Read moreMy husband and I are in Santa Barbara, starting a weeklong work trip. On a whim, we decided to jump on the ghost tour in Solvang on Sunday to have a little fun before work. wow, were we glad we did come. We enjoy going on ghost tours, when we travel to different cities, and we are so glad we came to Solvang for this Ghost Tour of Solvang. We love traveling, the supernatural, and history.
We spent nearly 2 hrs with Ryan, in a small intimate group setting. it was a great interactive tour. Ryan was welcoming, chatty, and informative. He kept the conversations flowing, was attentive, and provided as many answers as he could. Even though our group was a bit smaller, it wasn't any less active. Honestly, even though there weren't many people in the group, the energy level definitely felt like there were "MORE" walking around with us.
I, as someone who is finally accepting her psychic mediumship (10+ years) and sensitive to energy, this was the first time on a ghost tour that I felt the energy and seen/felt shift confirmation on a Ghost tour. All the tools were great to carry around and get hits of information. I may need to invest in getting myself my own dowsing rods. đ€
For those who are a bit more sensitive to the supernatural (HSP), keep your eyes UPwards in the "windows" of the tour. You may see or feel someone watching from above. đ This tour was definitely an experience that really helped me become more intuned with my abilities, and to get nearly immediate confirmations. Thank you, Ryan!
Even if one is a non-believer of the supernatural, just hearing the historical aspect is fun to walk around and learn a little about Solvang. A little exercise and some historical facts about the city of Solvang are worth the tour alone. Don't be shy and if you get a chance to, drop...
Read moreI talked my bf into coming on the tour. I've been coming to Solvang for years. I was 17 my first time. I've always loved this little Danish town but who knew about its "dark side"?! Many know but many don't tell I came to realize. đ€ Ashley was our guide. (Right away I knew she'd be great as that's my youngest Daughter's name!) I wasn't wrong, she was awesomesauce! We were a small group, only 4 of us. I immediately loved her sense of humor (which comes in handy when you're also a stand-up Comedian like she is.) I also loved that she grew up in Solvang and after being away for a few years is back. She knows so much fascinating History. Who knew Solvang had such an interesting "Ghostly" past? I'm fascinated by the stories. Ashley, we actually talked to the Knife store owner who had an "encounter" with a little Victorian girl at the gym. She'd be interested in taking the tour and talking to you about said "encounter." I can't say enough about how great Ashley was. Talk about being an asset to her company....okay if you insist, I will. She's a total asset and beyond. Yes indeed! We talked her and the tour up while we were there. Thanks, Ashley you're the hostess with the ghostest mostest. Love ya-mean it! Jana and Jim P.S. Here's a weird picture that was in my picture gallery for that night....that I didn't take. At first, I thought it was a distorted picture of my hand, but I wasn't wearing a bracelet. Hmmm. I...
