A winner!!! Went to check this place out on a whim even though it had only a few reviews. It’s about 10 minutes from the temple and mosque in bridgewater. Plenty of parking even though it says 15mins, you can stay longer. It’s just there to deter people who try and park for the entire day since the eatery is next to the train station. It ended up being authentic, fresh, and flavorful ingredients that danced in our mouths. An overall amazing experience start to finish. It's right in the railway station area and near shoprite and a ton of shops to walk after eating. The inside was neat, clean and had bar style seating for 10. As for food, I had a mango lassi and a lychee juice drink which were among a variety of different drinks. The dahi puri chaat is my favorite thing to get at every Indian restaurant and this one hit all the right notes and left my taste buds excited to try what was next!:) We got the masala dosa which was crisp and satisfying and the masala(seasoned potato filling) part was perfectly done. We look forward to coming back and trying a more adventurous Dosa next time like the capsicum onion cheese Dosa which sounded amazing, but opted for lighter options so that we can try more things. The absolute must of the day was the Chole Batura ..it was unique and our favorite of all the things we tried. The chole masala was excellent in flavor and the puri had flavor within itself even which I've never seen before. The idly was perfectly soft and a pleasant classic with the fresh sambar. The gulab jamun is freshly made in house and was a real treat! It wasn't overly sweet and it had the right hint of cardamom and saffron taste to end our perfect lunch. We took the rubrhi dessert to go and it was so incredible that I wished I had ordered more of it haha. Everything at this place was so fresh and had quality ingredients you can taste. I really hope it forever remains that way and this place finds the support it needs to fuel its future. Can't wait to come back!

On a recent Friday afternoon, we found ourselves in the mood for some Indian street food and decided to visit Bombay Canteen. The place was completely empty, perhaps because it was a self-service restaurant. Undeterred by the lack of a crowd, we went ahead and ordered a variety of dishes, hoping to indulge in some flavorful bites.

Among the assortment of food we tried, the cheese chili toast sandwich stood out as the best. The toast was perfectly crisp, the cheese was gooey, and the chilies added just the right amount of heat, making it a delightful treat. The aloo paratha also impressed us; it was well-stuffed and had a good balance of spices. The Ragda pattice was really good as well.

However, not everything lived up to our expectations. The paneer masala kathi roll and the achari paneer roll were both letdowns. The rolls lacked the depth of flavor we were looking for; they missed the mark on spice and tanginess, which are essential to such dishes. The paneer inside the rolls was somewhat bland and didn’t have the vibrant taste that’s typically associated with Indian street food.

We also tried their dabeli, one of their special dishes. While it wasn’t bad, it certainly wasn’t the best we’ve had. The flavors were subdued compared to the rich, spicy, and tangy dabelis we've enjoyed elsewhere.

Overall, while the food at Bombay Canteen wasn’t terrible, it didn’t offer any standout experiences. If you decide to visit, the cheese chili toast sandwich and aloo paratha are worth trying. However, I’d suggest steering clear of the wraps, as they didn’t quite...
