MO Grill, a cozy take-away spot in New Jersey, offers a truly unforgettable Mediterranean experience. The moment you step in, you are greeted by the friendly business owner, whose genuine warmth sets the tone for a delightful visit. Despite being a takeaway restaurant, the atmosphere feels inviting, making you feel instantly at home. The menu is packed with delicious options, but the shawarma is the undeniable star—juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. It’s easily the best shawarma you’ll ever taste, with every bite bursting with rich, authentic flavors. The chicken on rice is another standout, combining perfectly cooked chicken with aromatic rice, creating a comforting and delicious meal that tells the story of traditional Mediterranean taste. No meal at MO Grill is complete without sampling the desserts. The Baklava, Basbousa, and Kunafa are each a perfect sweet ending, showcasing the best of Mediterranean sweets. The flaky, nutty Baklava melts in your mouth, the Basbousa offers a delightful, syrup-soaked bite, and the Kunafa—rich with cheese and crispy pastry—brings a luxurious finish to your meal. MO Grill is more than just a takeaway; it’s a destination for authentic Mediterranean flavors that keeps you coming back. Don’t miss out on this hidden treasure!

Had the vegetarian platter. It was 90% rice with 3 falafel and a teaspoon of baba and hummus, 2 small squares of pita. The falafel was better than I’ve had elsewhere. The baba was good. The rice and hummus were not seasoned. I also ordered the kunafa and was hugely disappointed. When I first went there a few weeks ago, it was close to closing and he said they make it to order and it was too late to make it, which I understood. So I was extra excited to go back and have made to order kunafa. It was served cold so clearly it’s not made to order. I should have read the description closer but because I’ve had it in many different countries I know it’s made with pastry dough, cheese, simple syrup and pistachio. This did not have the cheese. It also tastes like the nuts are rancid so I tossed it. Hugely disappointed. I really wanted this to be amazing because there aren’t any other “takeout” Mediterranean places and this is also conveniently located. I’ve added pics of their kunafa and one I had in Jordan which is basically the same as I’ve had in Israel, Egypt, Palestine, Türkiye, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Srpska, Morocco, Bulgaria and Montenegro. I hope the chef/owner makes some improvements because I would like to see this business thrive.

Absolutely amazing food. The mix platter was absolutely perfect, both kinds of meat were tender, perfect ratio of white to red sauce and the rice was fresh and rich in flavor. The chicken sheesh kabab exceeded all expectations, so fresh it melted in my mouth. Packed with flavors and we could tell the food was amazing. The Baklava and Rice Pudding were the best I’ve had any where in Jersey and most importantly the service was so hospitable. The man working was so kind, gave us recommendations and very soft spoken. We got in around lunch time and were starving and the food was prepared fast and absolutely delicious. It looked so good that we didn’t even get a picture at the restaurant, but luckily had leftovers we brought back. One of the best spots I’ve had in New Jersey and I will definitely be back for more.

I've ordered twice and will definitely come back often, such a close drive from home and delicious reasonably priced food. Friendly service. It's a small place, no indoor dining, but there are outdoor tables - it is Division Street after all.

My first visit was a few weeks ago, ordered the meat combo platter and a side of falafel. A generous amount of meat that was moist and flavorful, same with the rice (some places I've tried do a bad job with the rice). Very good falafel, even though I didn't get to eat them for another half hour or so after getting my order (had errands) they were still quite crunchy and not greasy.

The second visit I ordered the kofta kabab platter, basbosa for dessert, and a sobia to drink while waiting. Again a generous amount of meat and excellent rice. It was my first time having sobia, it's reminiscent of horchata except no cinnamon, but with coconut instead. It was also my first time trying basbosa, really don't have anything to compare it with but it's a sweet dense cake made from semolina, would order it again. Back to the sobia, when my order was ready the gentleman offered to top off my drink but added some hibiscus tea to it, definitely a good combo that I'll probably request next visit.

UPDATE - ordered tres leches dessert during my latest visit, excellent! The owner is a trained...

I had high expectations going in considering the vast number of glowing reviews for this establishment. Unfortunately, my actual experience fell very short of my expectations.

The wait times for the food are ridiculous - I was told an average of 20 minutes for a shawarma platter, and 10 minutes for most sides. If i'm in a sit-down restaurant, sure, those are acceptable waiting times. But I have no incentive to patronize this establishment considering there's many comparable halal fast-casual restaurants in the area that can have my entire order out in 5 minutes or less.

The only redeeming quality of the food was the plentiful portions you receive. I could order a single platter, and that would easily last me 2-3 meals. Besides that fact, the food itself didn't impress me. The chicken was rubbery, old-tasting, and poorly seasoned. The rice and veggie spread were passable, just nothing too impressive. The pita bread was cold, and they didn't provide enough pieces. I also did not care for how limited the menu was, as there weren't many options for alternate toppings/add-ons as you would find elsewhere.

I would likely try it again if i'm in the area and it's a convenient option, it's not the worst i've had. But my experience was...
