We used to go here back at its old location, the food took a while to get ready when we placed an order but was normally good, however more often than not if we called ahead something in our order would get screwed up
The staff isn’t exactly the friendliest but we were willing to put these aside because we like the food
The final “yeah I’m good not coming back here anymore” was one day a few months ago we walked in and the air conditioning was broken, no big deal and I get it stuff happens, they called in a guy to fix the AC unit and he started getting to work on the vents….directly over the coffee station and where they were preparing some of the food, even the AC guy was like “hey I’m going to make some dust if you want to put a cover down” and the owner was like “no it’s fine just try and stay clean” meanwhile this was all over the coffee station that had open sugar containers right there that they were still serving fun that weren’t covered at all
Also there was once an employee brought her child in with her, my guess is no child care and I get it, but the kid couldn’t have been older than 9 and was taking to go orders
Those experiences just put me off forever and there are other delis in the area I’d much...

Their French toast egg bomb was big enough to feed a small family.
—- My biggest regret of 2022 so far is not going to Pop’s sooner.
The food at Pop’s is made to order, comes in huge portions and everything we’ve ordered was full of flavor.
We had their roast beef sandwich, which I have to mention was a big surprise. Not just because of the giant pile paper thin slices of roast beef, nor the hearty bread roll that it came in, but how they brilliantly included the gravy. The thick, dark gravy seems to be simmered and reduced like a jam spread , retaining the flavor yet not being so watery like a traditional gravy. Whoever thought of this deserves some kind of award.
The honey turkey sandwich was also fully loaded, just slightly sweet as just as satisfying as our other order.
A small team manned the kitchen when we visited this past Sunday afternoon— the food was definitely worth the wait, and the staff were all attentive, professional and personable.
We home to come back here...
Read moreLet me start by saying I never write reviews. I have been craving a good sandwich for a LONG time. Literally googled good sandwich spots in Somerville and found this place. Saw it had recently opened a few months ago and wanted to try. I went this afternoon & ordered the Paulie Jr. which has a chicken cutlet with melted fresh thinly sliced fresh mozz on top (which I loved), prosciutto, roasted peppers, spinach & a balsamic glaze. Because it was raining I ate in my car in the parking lot bc I just couldn’t wait. I can’t tell you how many times my friend (she ordered a special) and I said mmmm & wow. The sandwich was delicious and they are not skimpy with the ingredients they put on. The sandwich was THICK! In addition, the place was super cute and staff was extremely nice. I would have attached photos but I barely came up for air once I started...
