I rarely, if ever, eat in at this place, but that's only because I more often order take out. Their food is exactly what you'd expect. All of the normal Chinese food offerings at good prices. The more commonly ordered meals are prepared quick!
Last Friday we ordered take out and it was ready in 15 minutes. I can only eat pizza so much, so it's always good to have a favorite take out Chinese food place nearby. The vegetables were crisp where they should've been and soft where they should've been.
I ordered the Pork Lo Mein, Sweet & Sour Pork & Cashew Chicken with egg rolls and pork fried rice. My only complaint is the last time I ordered Moo Shu they list it as served with pancakes but they serve it with what I can only assume are egg roll wrappers. In their defense, I know of only one chinese food place in the area that actually serves the traditional Chinese scallion type pancakes (google it to see what you're missing), but I don't even think they serve them with their moo shoo only as...
Read moreNew to the area and looking for good Chinese food. Hong Kong Chef is definitely a keeper on my take out list! GREAT portion size, fabulous take out containers with snap on lids (!), and I actually like their egg rolls. The wrapper isn't fried too hard, perhaps could be a little crisper, but good size and taste. Their sweet and sour sauce is the kind I like, that for some reason is so hard to find! I could make a meal out of their egg rolls, sweet and sour sauce with a bit of hot mustard, YUM! The person who took my phone order was very pleasant, and was concerned that if my husband needed better directions there, to please call them! So sweet!! We got 6 large items (you have a large or small option) and 8 egg rolls, for about $80 if that helps you gauge price. I wish they had a website so I could see a better menu and...
Read moreI have to say, I used to love the dumplings from this place, so I decided to order some as my lunch. I was beyond disappointed because I knew exactly what they were when I opened them up. It's the Ling Ling brand pot stickers that you can buy at Costco... And I don't buy them from Costco because I don't think they taste good. I'm not sure if these were even pork as advertised on the menu. Pretty sure they are chicken and vegetable if all they are doing is buying them at Costco and reheating them. Officially the last time I'm going here because previous to this experience I ordered lunch specials with a coworker and got very little protein in our food it was all vegetables and rice. This place must be under new management and is taking the very cheap route to maximize profits but might struggle to retain...
