I grew up with Dunkin' Donuts and remember the old commercials; "Time to make the donuts". I'm not sure if they still make the donuts at the stores or if they are trucked in ready made like Wal-Mart or other stores. Regardless, Dunkin' Donuts has grown significantly and stores are available almost everywhere. The donuts aren't available in big box stores yet, but, their own brand of coffee is available and can be purchased from almost any major supermarket if you need you Dunkin' coffee fix.
While we are on the coffee subject, the Dunkin' coffee is pretty good and in my opinion, gives other coffee houses significant competition. I unfortunately can not drink cafinated coffee, so, I drink the decaf. Starbucks decaf bothers my stomach just as if it were cafinated. However, the Dunkin' Donuts coffee doesn't. I am also not a coffee conesur like some people. There are coffeholics who have a trained pallet like a wine conesur and can distinguish Great Values from Starbucks. To me coffee is coffee and it's only better with flavored creamer and sugar.
The donuts are really good and offer a wide variety to choose from. I believe, (and could be wrong), but, Dunkin' Donuts was one of the first stores to offer donut holes, also known as "Munchkins". Dunkin' Donuts are not like some other donuts where you bite into a donut and the roof of your mouth is covered in grease. Until Krispy Kreme migrated north, the only real donut shop was Dunkin' and Dunkin' Donuts wasn't available in a lot of cities and states. These days you can't drive a half mile without seeing a Dunkin' Donuts or Dunkin' Donuts Baskin Robbins combination. If you store them properly, Dunkin' Donuts can last several days and not get hard, although, I would not advise keeping the cream filled donuts for more than one day as they do use dairy to make the fillings.
The donuts are reasonably priced and fairly comparative with other stores and he coffee is comparable to most of the big name coffee houses. The cups and mugs on the other hand are over priced and on the expensive side. You purchase a ceramic coffee mug to use at work and have at your desk. Co-workers see the mug and want one, they don't need to ask you where you purchased it from because Dunkin' Donuts is printed on the side. Yes, it's a nice mug, but, Dunkin' Donuts is getting free advertising from your purchase and will make more mug sales from your free advertising. If you like the cup or mug and are willing to spend the amount asked, enjoy the cup. But, the way I look at it, if the company can spend approximately $60,000 for a 30 second television advertisement spot, they can sell the logo cups and mugs at a lower price because you are advertising for...
Read moreSome of the worst customer service I’ve ever had to displeasure of experiencing. Had to wait several minutes for the drive through worker to acknowledge us only for him to be borderline unintelligible. After having to explain our order of lattes and hash browns we were told to pull to the window without being told what our total was. Whatever, it happens at fast food places sometimes. Get to the window, here’s where the service goes from bad to worse. Worker stuck his hand out, said nothing of what we owed again. My father hands them his card, we received our coffee and food. Worker does not hand us back the card. Wait several minutes until we have to get their attention. They can’t find the card, we checked the bag and found no card. After several minutes of searching my father finally sees where the card is. It’s laying on the ground between the window and the car. Apparently the worker handed it with the bag on the side facing away from us and dropped it. Literally every other place hands you the card separately OR with your items facing you. We were out of town as well so losing that card would’ve been disastrous. Workers offered no apology and treated it as if it was our fault for not grabbing it (again it was on the side of the bag facing away from us and the worker said nothing about handing back our card). Extremely frustrating experience, topped off with the fact that the hashbrowns were cold and soggy, the bags holding them literally felt like a wet diaper. They also gave us two orders instead of one, which we were probably charged for. Couldn’t tell you if they did, because there was also no receipt to be found. Probably fell alongside the card somewhere. The lattes were good, so at least they have something going right there. Only other highlight was the fact that my father, a god fearing Christian, was so frustrated with how they lost his card that he dropped an f-bomb (not directed at the worker I should add). Very amusing since it was the first time in my 20 years of life that I’ve ever heard him say that. Back to the point, service is terrible and so is the food. I hope they can improve this location but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Even with better training for the staff I sincerely doubt they’ll improve their attitude towards customers. Judging by other reviews it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this location close. Personally it would fill me with unbridled joy to see the whole building bulldozed....
Read moreI have went here three times now to try and be fair, you know give them the benefit of the doubt.
This is THE LAST TIME that this store OR ANY DUNKIN gets my hard earned money.
First. I've NEVER felt like the customer service was what a Dunkin experience should be. I literally wait at least 10 minutes EVERY time I come to this location JUST TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED.
Second. I've gotten food here twice. Both time a got the Brisket hash brown scrambler thing. One time the cup wasn't quite full, the other time I was given maybe half of what I received the first time. For one the "full" portion size isn't worth the money in the first place, and secondly I DO NOT DEAL WITH IMPROPER WEIGHTS AND MEASURES. You MUST maintain a consistent portion size.
Third. Literally every time I'm in here regardless of time or how busy they are it's FILTHY. Pics included in review.
Fourth and finally. The owner actually disturbed me while I was setting reading and drinking my coffee asking me to move my car so he could charge his Tesla...like look, had it been marked as a charging station ok it is what it is and I wouldn't of minded obliging him... HOWEVER not only was it not marked as a charging station he was also VERY rude. How dare you interrupt a paying customer with such a request when the "charging station" isn't even clearly marked.... AUDACITY.
Nope. I'll drive to Bigby or even a nasty ol gas station coffee before EVER spend my money here or anywhere in the Duncan ecosystem.
