Dusal's — Restaurant in South Brunswick

This place is pretty meh. Some of the food is good, some is OK, some is just bad. The fat sandwiches are awesome and the pizza here I would say is a 6.5/10. Tends to be a little undercooked and tends to fall apart when you're seperating slices. The delivery guys are really cool, and I always make sure I give them a 25%+ tip. Honestly, because they seem so thankful for even a 20% tip, I'm not sure if the area really is that bad or their management staff is stingy. Not a big fan of the management staff. Or at least the gruff, heavy Italian voice that always answers the phone. Had a few messed up orders from this place. Their main entrees come with a side a pasta. One time, we ordered two entrees and only got one side of pasta. No big whoop. The pasta sides are HUGE. They're absolutely nothing to write home about, but they're a hefty portion. It also came with a side of bread and I believe a salad, which was nice, but we still paid what we paid for. Another time, they forgot the soda, and when we called to see what was up, the same gruff voice, who I'm assuming is the manager or owner, said it couldn't be refunded because "the payment was already in the system." Um... that would be stealing? Sure, it's a $3 2-liter of Sprite... but you really can't sit here and tell us you can't give us a refund... He gave us a name and said next time we order, to ask for him and he'd give us a free soda. Honestly seems like the guy does that alot and doesn't follow through. We also tried modifying the fat sandwiches a few times, like simple things. Like add mozarella sticks or fried chicken. We ordered through GrubHub and said we absolutely did not mind paying more for any modifications and to just have the delivery guy tell us our new total. Gruffy called us and told us it just couldn't simply be done. So you're stuffing sandwiches with chicken, mozzarella sticks, cheesesteak, and fries... but you can't substitute cheesesteak for onion rings? Are all of your fat sandwiches frozen? Or premade? Meh. Average food, great delivery staff, subpar management. We know you guys have been around for quite some time, but that doesn't mean you talk down to your customers, guys. Should have given them 2 stars, but delivery is always prompt and as average as the food is, it seems to always...

First time I ever ordered food here. Will definitely be the last. Ordered chicken Marsala to go… made the mistake of thinking it was a simple enough dish. What (canned) mushrooms and sauce that were present were flavorless and left the included pasta mostly dry if not slightly oily and inedible. Worse, the chicken, although plentiful and cooked well enough.. tasted like lemon chicken which clashed very badly with the attempt at Marsala. Gave it a second bite just to give it another chance, after that it went straight to the trash.

Parsing ingredients with you is not the point, and although doubtful about the nature of your mushrooms, the flavor OR lack there of is still the main point.

The dish as whole was quite flavorless. The best thing about it was the bread I asked for on the side.

I guess there comes a point with any restaurant when the proportion of their desire for making money outweighs their desire to make good food…

I suggest you taste your food; Test the abilities of your cooks, if not yourself and ask yourself if you’re truly happy with the recipe - as I sincerely doubt the dish would’ve passed muster at your mother’s table.

BO RING. I would like to say this was the worst pizza I have ever ordered, but in fact, it was just plain boring, no taste whatsoever. I'm not even sure if there was salt in the sauce. Bland, tasteless cardboard. It looked great in the box, but even the cheese had no taste.

One other reviewer mentioned tasting the can in the sauce. This may well be the case. It's just tomato sauce from a can with no herbs or spice at all. I ate 2 slices and threw the rest away, which was quite a bit because II ordered whole wheat crust (burnt on the bottom, yuk) and they only let me order a large.

I have not tried other food at this place, but I do not recommend their pizza AT ALL. This was recommended by a neighbor and I have to now think that neighbor doesn't have very sophisticated taste buds.

I suggest trying Vinny's further south on Route 27, Monmouth Junction or South Brunswick? Great pizza and always...
