Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in South Carolina

Went to Applebee’s 01/15/2025 with my wife and had what could only be described as an absolutely horrendous experience. Our server, K’ara T, was one of the WORST servers I’ve had in quite some time. First, my wife’s smoothie came up at the bar and just sat there melting until I caught the attention of another server to hand it to us that walked by. Then, our appetizers- which in normal establishments would come out first- came out late as hell with the rest of the food. The entire appetizer tray was cold and the chips were over fried. You’d think I could mention this to the server and maybe get it remade except not even ONCE did our server come by to check on us- not since she sat the food down. I swear what felt like an hour came and went and not ONCE did we see our server. I literally had to tell another server to go get her. The guy sitting beside us piped up like “right- where did she go? The dude that’s helping us ain’t even our server.” I’m like “Right?? I just told my wife like did she clock out and go home?” So at this point I’m irritated and totally disgusted with what was supposed to be a relaxing night out. The other server finally fetched K’ara and we overheard the male hostess offering to assist her and she very rudely declined and told him she didn’t care. Buddy was like “Dang I’m just trying to help.” You don’t care about the quality of service you’re delivering to patrons of this establishment? Then to say it within earshot of the customers?? Tacky. Not to mention when she brought our check out- SHE BROUGHT THE WRONG CHECK!!!!!! Like this cannot be real life 😂 not only did she bring out the wrong check- I yet again had to call ANOTHER server to even swipe my card who then realized the error. He comes over like “I’m so sorry for how this night is going but I ran your card for the wrong check but it should be refunded and I ran it for the correct amount as well.. Sorry” SORRY?!?! So now I’m looking at a double charge on my account. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. Avoid this location like the plague. It sucks because it’s literally down the street from my house- but we too will not be frequenting this...

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS!!! I DEFINITELY WOULD…… FROM THE TIME I WALKED IN THE DOOR, IT WAS A COMPLETE DISASTER. DOOR MAN DIDN’T EVEN GREET ME AND MY CHILDREN I WAS EXCITED ABOUT FAMILY TIME AFTER PICTURES AND WANTED TO TAKE MY BABIES OUT TO EAT!!! I HAD TEENS 13-15 MY 10 YEAR OLD MY 18 YEAR OLD AND MY TWO TWINS INFANTS10 MONTHS, WE GOT SEATED AND WE HAD NO WAITER AFTER 30 MINS SOME GUY CAME AND SAID HE APOLOGIZE HE DIDN’T KNOW WE WERE THERE HE’S WORKING THE BACK AND IT’S A MISCOMMUNICATION, KEY ME TAKE YALL DRINK ORDERS AND ASKED IT WE WANTED A APPETIZER I ORDERED MOZZARELLA CHEESE STICKS(2) ORDERS AND HE RETURNED WITH OUR DRINKS, HER CAME BACK AFTER THEY WAS GONE IMAGINE ABOUT 25 MINS, I DON’T KNOW AFTER THAT WE LITERALLY SAY THERE 2 1/2 HOURS WATCHED 4 PEOPLE COME IN SIT DOWN GET FOOD DRINKS AND NAPKINS ETC, WE DIDN’T RECEIVE ANYTHING EXCEPT DRINKS AND STICKS, I WAITED PATIENTLY AND SO DID MY CHILDREN!!!!!!!! MY CHILDREN STARTED GETTING FRUSTRATED BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS HUNGRY EVEN MY TWINS WANTED THEIR MASH POTATOES AND AFTER WE DECIDED TO GET UP AND LEAVE SOME LADY CAME HOLDING A SMALL BOWL OF MASH……… I TOLD HER WE BEEN HERE OVER 2HOURS AND WATCHED ANOTHER FAMILY SIT DOWN EAT AND LEAVE AND SHE RESPONDED SHE DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS THAT LONG!!!!!!! THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME HERE……. BAD SERVICE DON’T WANNA SERVE A CROWD THE GUY ALSO CAME OUT TO TELL US WE WAS GETTING REFILLS WE NEVER RECEIVED AND SAID THEY WAS OUT OF RANCH AND WE CAN USE HONEY MUSTARD FOR BONELESS BUFFALO BECAUSE ALL MY CHILDREN WANTED THE ALL YOU CAN EAT I ORDERED THE 2 FOR 28 AND TAKING MY RIBS TO GO………… I WANTED TO CRY BECAUSE THIS WAS THE WORSE DAY WE SAY THERE SO LONG AND HUNGRY IT WAS 6:30-45 AND WE FINALLY LEFT AFTER 9:30/10 AND WENT TO WHAT A BURGER……. I SAID I WAS GOING TO RETURN HERE THE NEXT DAY TO TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE I HONESTLY THINK THEY DIDN’T WANNA SERVE OR PREPARE THE MEALS WE ORDERED I WAS THE ONLY ADULT AND MY CHILDREN WAS VERY WELL MANNERED AND PATIENT…………. EVEN MY INFANTS……… NEW MANAGEMENT OR SHUT DOWN!!!!! NOTHING LIKE...

DO NOT EAT HERE! One of the worst dinner experiences of my life. Started with the waitress spilling someone's glass of coke in my lap. That was an accident & she was very apologetic, I actually felt bad for her about that part. She cleaned it off the seat & got me some napkins quickly. The hostess came & asked if she could do anything, I said a wet towel to get the sticky off the table, she never did come back with it, the waitress finally did much later, after the food arrived. I asked 3 people for clean silverware, mine was soaked, before I finally got it; well after my salad arrived. I asked for a refill of water when my food arrived, I didn't get it until after I finished my meal. The pool of coke in the floor, & under my feet, was never cleaned the whole time we were there, people just kept walking around it. The hostess came by later & pointed at it to another waitress & commented "that's crazy". There was also a puddle of water under the dirty table across from us, which sat uncleaned most of the time we were there, & another puddle at the table behind us. We spoke to the people at that table as we were leaving, they were leaving too. They said they had the same experiance as we did except it was a glass of water spilled and it was not spilled directly on the lady, but they said they had asked repeatedly for it to be cleaned and it never was. They were local to the Columbia area & said this was the worst Applebee's location in town. You would think that if a patron had a glass of anything soak them that at some point during dinner someone that worked there would inform the manager & that the manager would come check on the customers. Never happened! We did see the manager as we were leaving, she was at another table, apparently apologizing to those people for the really crappy service at her restaurant. Oh, and she didn't really look like she cared...
