I pass this place everyday on my way to work. I saw the sign with hopeful anticipation. I was finally able to try it today with my wife for lunch.
They have, by far, the most flavorful asada tacos I have ever eaten. The steak has just enough sear that it's just bursting with flavor. They are reasonably priced ($1.99 tacos) and portioned very well for the price, considering I've paid the same at other places for a smaller taco with less fillings and much less flavor. I also tried the spicy pork (I can't remember the Spanish name, but it wasn't chorizo) and it was also packed with flavor and delicious. I snuck a bite of my wife's carnitas, her normal favorite, and it was pretty good as well.
The salsa bar has a wide array of salsas and "fixin's." I'm loco for salsa verde and it also didn't disappoint. It had just enough spice and was definitely worth a taste.
The restaurant only seats 35 and by the time we left, every seat in the house was taken and more people pulling up. We got our food in a reasonable time and it was definitely worth the few minutes we had to wait.
I regret that I didn't take a picture of the menu, but I'll definitely be going back so I'll get it soon.
Do yourself a favor and try...
Read moreWent for an early dinner, for some reason they close at 5pm on weeknights. My wife ordered supreme nachos and I ordered three supreme tacos and a verde tamale. The tamale arrived first and was still in the corn husk and slid onto the table as the staff set it down. I have to make it “verde” myself by going up to the salsa bar and pouring verde salsa over it. Wife nachos arrive and all I can say is they looked like what you would get at a Montana golf course. Chips, tiny bit of chicken, some odd cheese sauce, and a handful of bagged shredded cheese covered in lines of sour cream. This plate was not hot or heated in any way. None of the cheese was melted. It was gross. We then get the bill. The 3 for $9.75 supreme tacos were actually the normal taco price ($2.85) plus 25 cents each for sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. For each taco. I tried to explain that the menu said 3 for $9.75 and I was told that they had to raise all their prices but the menus were still old. But the individual taco price was $2.85 on the menu and that’s what I was charged. I didn’t argue and paid the bill but do yourself a favor and go to one of the other 125 Mexican...
Read moreI called in half hour before closing. I asked if they were still taking to go orders because I didn't want to order if they weren't going to have enough for the giant burrito.
I got there at 4:45 to pick up. It wasn't ready so I waited. The queso I ordered was cold and so watery that you couldn't dip the chip without it running right off. When queso is that cold, it usually congeals.
The burrito had no beef, and wasn't filled. Two inches on both sides (not including folds) the ends were just soft shell. With nothing else.
The middle was mostly shredded lettuce with a small amount of refried beans, Guac and sour cream....
I paid over 10.00 for nothing. Can't even eat the queso...
I will never go back.
I read the reviews and visited because of the good reviews. I was very disappointed. I felt robbed.
Imo if they didn't have enough to prepare the food, they should just say so instead of ripping people off.
Do not go here within an hour of them closing. The salsa bar will be sparse and the food will not be as described on the...
