I've been coming to this bar with my friends for years. Whether it’s the free shows, the ticketed shows, events with my friends in sororities etc, we’ve always had a great time. The music is awesome, the drinks are good, the food hits the spot, and the bartenders are some of the best in town. We’ve never had a single issue… until last night. And what happened was not only disappointing, it was infuriating and unacceptable. Completely unprovoked, a meathead security guard walked up to my brother, grabbed the drink he paid for out of his hand, and told him he was "done for the night", despite the fact that he was calm, respectful, and absolutely fine. When I calmly questioned why, the guard escalated and threatened me, saying: “I’ll throw you out just as fast as I’ll throw him out.” About 20 minutes later, after getting another drink (my second of the night), I was again approached this time by the meatheads security guard buddy and told that was my last drink. At this point, it felt less like they were doing their job and more like they were power tripping and actively looking for a reason to intimidate us. We tried to shake it off, but the behavior got worse. When I was closing out, the bartender (who knows us well) asked if my brother was okay, clearly surprised at how things played out. She apologized for the way we were treated and kindly adjusted our tabs. We appreciated that, but the situation took another sharp turn as we were heading out. As another one of my friends was leaving and saying goodbye to a group of coworkers — one of whom happened to be Black — the same security guard approached him and said, “what did he slip you?” My friend was understandably shocked. When he asked what he meant, the guard accused him of being sold drugs and told him, “Next time, be more conspicuous about it.” My friend offered to let him check his pockets, drug test him, etc but the guard doubled down, insisting he was lying. It was baseless, disgusting, and blatantly racist. To say we’re disappointed is an understatement. We’ve always loved this place and supported it loyally, but last night we were treated with total disrespect, threatened, and subjected to racist behavior by security staff who were clearly abusing their position for a reason we don’t understand. This kind of behavior has no place in any establishment, especially not one we've called our go to for years. We truly hope management takes this seriously. No customer (loyal or not) should ever be made to feel threatened, less than, targeted, or disrespected, let alone...

I hope you are doing well. I am sending this email today because I would like to speak with the owner or someone in corporate above the general manager. My friends, family and I frequent The Boat House very often. We have been customers for over 7 years. This past Sunday April 14th, 2024 was the worst experience we ever had. We were told by the general manager, in a very rude way, that we were not able to go inside The Boat House or walk up the dock from our boat after 5pm. We spent a very significant amount of money at The Boat House. After having food and drinks on our boat that we purchased at The Boat House, we walked up the dock to use the restaurant. We were met by the general manager at the entry way when walking up the dock. He told us we had to drive our boat down a ways and use porter potties. He refused to let us on the property because we came to The Boat House in a boat. Also, he told us after 5pm we were not permitted on the property because someone got into a boating accident a few weeks ago after leaving the boathouse. The customers that got into the boating accident, supposedly blamed the accident on the drinks at the boathouse. That was the general managers reasoning for not letting us on the property to use the restroom or to get more food. That reasoning makes absolutely no sense. If a driver of a car gets into an accident leaving the boathouse, are you going to keep all customers who drove cars, from entering the boathouse after 5pm as well? I would like answers as to why we were treated differently and unfairly. I do not appreciate the tone of the general manager when he spoke to us. I do not like being treated unfairly and being told to use an outside porter potty after spending money at a business. You can contact me by email please and thank you. This was the worst experience I ever had at The Boat House. Please give the general manager extra training on how to treat his customers or please...
Read moreWent here for the 1st time on Friday August 29th 2025 with my parents, aunt and friends. This is a nice restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered, so it is comfortable especially since it was sunny and warm that day. Oh and they also had a free band that night too, and after we ate, we watched the band for a little while. Although fair warning, band nights seem to get crowded, and was getting squished alot inside. Anyways back to our food experience. We sat ourselves at a high top under the patio. We had a nice view of the intercoastal water in front of us. Server was female and was great, explained drink options as well as food options. This has your typical bar food type fair. We started with waters and some drinks. They had an orange crush in which i ordered, and my mom ordered a lime crush, other people got drinks too, but can't remember exactly what- although i know they all enjoyed them. We also ordered some appetizers such as the chicken balls, and boneless wings, and spicy shrimp- which were all delicious! Food also came out in a timely manner. For entree, I ordered the fish and chips. Someone else ordered the same thing. Then we ordered sandwiches and burgers. I enjoyed my fish and chips, and the fish was nice and tender, and the fries were good too. the other people also seemed to enjoy their food. Server did separate checks for us- and made sure that each check was accurate. Oh and they don't take discover credit cards. We paid the bill and left a cash tip. We hope to be back soon! and...
