My husband, son and I ate here for dinner tonight as we usually do when we come to the beach. We usually have a pretty good experience but tonight was so bad that it’s pushed me to write this review. Let me start off by saying that the food was delicious as it always is. If I could rate that alone they would get 5 stars. It’s the service that deserves 1 star. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say that we had the absolute WORST waiter that we have ever had in our whole lives. I don’t even know where to start. Firstly I’ll start off by saying that we went around 7PM as the crowd was dying off so they were not very busy. When he finally got around to get our order he was not understanding what we were asking for. When I was ordering a meal for my 2 year old son he thought I was ordering 2 meals for myself. I ordered my son the grilled chicken plate. Then he forgot our drinks COMPLETELY. We had to remind him to please get them. When he brought them back he forgot a straw for my sons cup with kid. Then he forgot our appetizer and we had to remind him of that again as well. When he brought the bread basket out he did not bring out the complimentary fish stew that I personally enjoy. When I asked him if I could get a cup he said that some meals come with it. Being a regular here I knew that was not true but I was trying to be polite so I did not say anything. A few mini after ordering another waitress came back to our table to ask me what side I wanted with my meal since he forgot to ask. Then when our meals finally arrived he had given my son fried chicken tenders, not the grilled mike I had ordered and what he even repeated back to me. Again, we were very patient and said nothing. We had to ask for a refill. At this point I STILL had not revived my fish stew so I asked if I could have a cup. He then said that he knew everyone didn’t like the stew so that’s why he didn’t bring it. Mind you earlier he said the meal came with it after I ASKED for it. He said he would go to get my fish stew year again. He did not. While all of this was going on he was talking and laughing with a larger table right behind us. At this point we were just beyond frustrated and decided it was time to just leave. So we asked for some to go boxes and the check. When he bought the check and boxes he bought the fish stew with them so at that point I was full. I could not believe how bad this experience was. We’ve always loved this restaurant and while the food is good for what we paid Themis service was just absolutely horrible and it saddens me to feel like because of that we will probably not be returning again. I truly hope nobody else has...

We are visiting MB and randomly chose CH due to their full parking lot. We feel if the parking lot is full in the off season, it must be good. Boy, was it good!! We arrived at 7 and had to wait for 45 minutes but the hostess told us we could check out their pond full of creatures. We spent that time hanging out with carp, turtles, and birds hoping to see a gator. We were seated a little under 45 minutes and had a basket of warm cinnamon rolls and hush puppies placed in front of us. Both were exceptional! We had to restrain ourselves from devouring the entire basket. I ordered the seafood pie. My husband ordered the scallops. My children both had the kids spaghetti. I am not exaggerating when I say this is hands down one of my most favorite meals in my life. The seafood pie was the perfect temperature. I could taste the white wine the seafood was cooked in. It wasn’t over cheesy nor were they too heavy on the bread crumbs. My husband said his scallops were the best he’s ever had. I tasted my children’s spaghetti and even that was fresh and really good. I can tell everything is prepared fresh, not from the microwave or frozen. The prices were VERY reasonable. I was shocked that we got out under $100 especially for how fantastic our meals were. The only thing I could say wasn’t great were the house salads. They would be much better with mixed greens instead of ice burg.

The atmosphere was casual but finer dining. There’s a great view of the pond if you’re near the windows. The bathrooms were clean and so was our tables.

We are going to make a point to go back to CH our next trip to MB. We just hope next time we get to see a gator...

If I could break apart the categories food would of been a 1, service 5, location 3, friendliness 2. 11/4 =2.75, now allow me to explain.

SERVICE: our waiter was tentative, kept us refilled with drinks and got our orders correct. Our food came out hot. He did a great job. FOOD: the meal I had the pesto salmon, was not pesto, Instead it was some weird concoction of lemon mustard dill sauce with some bedding on top. Pesto is green, not white. Because the sauce was not what was advertised, It really ruined the taste of the salmon (I loath mustard) in fairness I did not say anything, mainly because we had small children with us and didnt want to take longer. The salmon itself was incredibly dry, do much to the point that a drink had to be taken with every bite, just to help wash it down. The veggies were great, so were the hushpuppies. I didnt care for the cinnamon rolls but the rest of the party did. LOCATION: conveniently located along 17. Which is easy in, however getting out takes crossing 3 lanes of traffic if you want to go south and can be hard to do. FRIENDLINESS: I realize that this place gets busy, but everyone here was very focused on the job, not a bad thing in and of itself, however it just comes across as cold.

All in all not a bad place, but my plate was not worth the 30$ it cost for just my plate. If we were to go back, I would get the steak. Other members in the party had steak and they loved it. Be sure to check out the crocodiles and...

My family and I actually liked our first visit here so much during the week we stayed in Myrtle, that we had to return a second time. We went to many restaurants on our trip this past week, and quite a few were let downs, but in the mix were a few fantastic places as well! Both times we had an amazing server (2 separate but awesome servers); quick with drinks, very accommodating and super friendly! This place brings out cinnamon rolls stacked on top of some hush puppies as kind of the "house bread". We were all amazed by that, and both of those things were tasty, too. Between myself and 6 other people going twice, we ordered a large variety of items off of the menu, and everything was fantastic and fresh. Seafood, steaks, salads, sides, etc. They bring a sample of their fish stew as well with your side salads. While none of us cared a ton for it, it was an interesting thing to bring with the salad and we all gave it a try the second time, too. To someone into super fishy things or seafood in general, maybe you'd like it. Half of the seating is near a giant window wrapping the building that let's you look out on a giant pond sort of area that is filled with turtles, and even an alligator who we were lucky enough to see just within a few few from us. Really nice atmosphere, great staff and great food. Both of our trips here were fantastic, so I definitely recommend!

Food: The food was fantastic! I highly recommend the She Crab Soup, Lobster Pie, and Shrimp. Neither my husband, nor I, like Cocktail Sauce nor Tartar Sauce, but we both took a wild hair and tried it on our hush puppies and it was fabulous! Service: Our waitress was very friendly and energetic. She was constantly checking in on us, but not in an annoying way. I was also impressed by the hostess/ manager. She was very kind and thoughtful. She made sure when we came in and she took us to our seat that we knew there were steps and how many to there were. I also noticed her offering to let an older gentleman who was using a walker to go out a different door. When he declined and said he could just go up the steps she helped him to maintain his balance by stabilizing the arm without the handrail and maneuvering his walker so he could get to it after he reached the top step. There was another person with this gentleman who could've helped him, but I thought it to be very thoughtful and kind of her. Company: my husband, of course, is great company, but it was nice to have another join us for dinner... the local gator. He was kind enough to come up to the edge of the pond right near our window so we could watch him hunt for an evening snack. There were also several turtles swimming around and enjoying the last rays of sunshine before heading off to bed.
