Overpriced and Underwhelming – Not Worth What They’re Charging
This place was just way overpriced for what you get. I ordered a calzone and a chicken parm sandwich that came with fries, and the total came to $37. That’s a lot—especially when the calzone alone ended up being over $20 after toppings or whatever. I’ve paid $17 for a calzone before at another place, but it was massive—like, came-in-a-pizza-box massive—and actually tasted amazing. This one? Tiny. Regular-sized, maybe even a bit small. No way it should be over $10–12, even for a higher-end spot. It felt like a ripoff the second I picked up the box.
As for the sandwich, it was nothing special. Just your standard chicken parm with some fries. It was fine, not bad, but definitely not impressive. Not huge, not particularly well-made, just average. And at these prices, average isn’t good enough.
I get that it’s a tourist town and they’re gonna charge more, but the value just isn’t there. I’ve had way better food, in bigger portions, for cheaper—so what exactly am I paying for here?
To be fair, the service wasn’t bad. The woman behind the counter was nice. She filled my water jug without hesitation, didn’t mind that I was in the lot feeding my dog, and let me take my time getting things organized before leaving. So I’m not trying to trash the people—just the prices and portion sizes, which are flat-out ridiculous.
When you're paying this much, the food should either blow you away or be big enough to justify the cost. This was neither. I left there carrying the food thinking, this better be dense as hell to make up for the size—and nope, just light, unimpressive,...
Read moreI live nearby, and I remember the one time I visited this bar back in Fall 2020. I walked into the bar doing the tradition of the time of wearing a mask inside until I sat down. Before I was able to sit down, a Cleveland Browns fan surrounded by a table of onlooking fellow Browns fans told me “excuse me sir, I am offended by your mask”. There were more antics from him but I’ll just say he spoke so loud he silenced the bar. I was stunned, finished my beer and cashed out. That was 3 years ago and I’ve still not returned. I feel like this place had a decent crowd back when Waterway Hills the golf course across the waterway was open. These days it’s just gotta be a cheap beer spot full of...
Read moreNice bar but could use sound dampening as everyone is yelling to be heard even when not many people are there. Good specialty cocktails but the prices are a little high. The happy hour specials are okay but the food portions are small for the price. When checking out I had to find a bartender and wait 10 minutes while they charged my credit card twice for triple the amount for the wrong table. There are better options to have a less stressful and more affordable drink and appetizer...
