I've been here twice in the past year and both times provided fantastic experiences leading me to encourage others to go, and to quickly plan to return myself. The most recent visit was early October 2022 and I took my daughter for a date night. They don't take reservations so we had to wait in the small waiting area for around 35 minutes. The restaurant is fairly small, but the space they have isn't being used well. 20% of their tables are unused. The staff was great. Super friendly, abundantly helpful and perfectly knowledgeable. If you are looking for a swanky Italian restaurant, this isn't it. If you are looking for delicious food and a good family atmosphere, you'll love it. The walls are littered with pictures from Italy, both the countryside and architecture as well as many family photos. We started with calamari. This was fine but mediocre, being the one thing I won't order again. I got chicken Parm and my daughter got pizza. The salad with my meal was exactly what was expected. The rolls they provided were fantastic and my entree could not have been better. I heard the pizza was great but didn't try it myself. I will make a point to return during the week to try their pizza which people rave about. In Summary, Such good food at very reasonable prices! I've heard the pizza is fantastic but haven't tried it yet. Everything else has been fantastic!

Nothing but Delicious and Fresh! Ordered the Chicken Madeira which was excellent, the Staten Island Stye Cheese Pizza which was the best pizza I have had in a very long time. Also ordered a ham and cheese calzone, which was just as good at the pizza. Yummy Zucchini Fries. The place was super clean. There were social distancing signs, as well as, foot markers showing people where to stand; and everyone was wearing a mask. We wanted to go for Dine in a few days before we ordered the take out, but they were closed for 4th of July weekend. Seeing some of these most recent bad reviews, which were made back to back in one day stating that they got coronavirus from this restaurant seems a little fishy to me. Especially since they said they went on the Saturday when the restaurant was closed for business.... then another right after it claiming that they ate take out one day and the very next day took the test because they didn't feel well and was diagnosed with Covid. Doesn't seem realistic nor possible. Anyways, look forward to going back and hopefully being able to dine in the next trip. I am not a local and was just visiting on vacation, and most people on the line were raving about the food and told us they were regulars.

I haven't had a single bad thing from Della's EVER. Their marinara is so good I could drink it, I used to always get their Alfredo with a side of marinara to mix it in, but I really wanted to try their chicken parmesan and it's now my new favorite. My husband's go to is the meat lasagna. Each entree comes with garlic rolls (absolutely to die for)and a salad, I highly recommend upgrading it to the Greek salad, it is delicious. To note: you get to pick your style of noodle for most of their dishes! I'm going to go back and talk about the garlic rolls because they alone need to be ranted and raved about. They're perfectly soft with a nice crunch at the bottom, buttery, garlicky, and cheese dusted. I could probably make a meal out of them alone, they're hands down the best garlic rolls I've had. We also tried their mozzarella sticks for the first time and the breading is amazing, and once again dipped in their incredible marinara *chefs kiss*. The restaurant itself is super cute and the service is always above and beyond.

So, this is my local pizza joint because it's just a couple of miles from my 'hood. And they're actually okay in regards to food quality. Sure, Vic's and a handful of other pizza joints are quite a bit better when it comes NY-style pie, mainly because their mozza game is so much better than Della Ventura's. But DV's is alright. And it's the fact that the food is "alright" that I'm giving it two stars.

And to be totally upfront about this review, it's in regards to to-go orders. My last three visits here were to pick up some pie. The last two trips were met with exorbitantly long waits that were due to inattentive staff.

Let me tell you about last night since it was a joke.

I ordered two large pizzas and was told they'd be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived on time and walked straight to the register and gave them my name. The girl rang me up and I paid, even left a 15% tip to be nice, which is what I usually do on to-go orders.

Then I waited.

After about five minutes I asked and was told it was almost ready.

So, I waited some more.

Fifteen minutes later I asked again and the same girl remarked "you have to pay first."

I said "I paid you 20 minutes ago for a pizza order that I placed 50 minutes ago." She seemed a bit taken aback and then did one of those snarky head shakes and screwed her face up as if she was in denial about having made a mistake. No apology, just a condescending attitude.

Next thing I knew a young guy was handing me my pizzas. I opened the box on top and my pizzas looked like they had been sitting for a bit. I touched the cheese and it was no longer hot.

So yeah, my pizzas were ready on time and I got there on time. I paid and tipped and I got subpar service for the second time in a row, but this time they gave me a slice of millenial ineptitude that was topped with righteous indignation.

Next time I'll just keep drving and go to Vic's or Vinnie's or Vito's. They're a little farther away but at least they don't treat you with disdain for being a...

I have eaten here twice... The first time was a couple years ago and we got a pizza. My recollection is, it was so so...this is reinforced by our failure to go back. Until tonight. Tonight, ordered calamari, spaghetti, and lasagna. In fairness to the restaurant this was a to go order. The lasagna was not to myy taste. Full of cheese with very little sauce. They made a point to mention meat when I ordered it, and there was a dollup if ground beef on one side of the lasagna. Very little tomato sauce. I believe the menu calls it cheese lasagna, and that name is appropriate. I did it care for it, and if you enjoy lasagna with meat, I can only guess the dish would not suit you well either. I can't comment on whether the dish was good, to be honest. Lasagna to me has meat and tomato sauce, and without those elements, there was no saving it for me. The calamari batter was soggy. I am not sure if eating at the restaurant would have helped. The rolls were rather flavorless

My wife had spaghetti w meat sauce. Similar to the lasagna, the meat seemed to be an add on versus being incorporated with the sauce. she was not impressed. I will say the quantities were huge. We could and should have split something and we would still have had leftovers. The staff were very friendly and seemed like they had their act together.

All in all, eating there MAY have helped the dishes somewhat, but based on our two tries (again, one there, one take a way), we won't be going back. Hope this is helpful for others. Obviously some.people love it, but it is...

Very good but each time you go seems to be a different experience. Not that any experiences were bad but some are better than others. We were there last night and it was jammed packed as usual. I waited by the hostess station (as there is virtually nowhere else to wait) and watched the hostess disappear often leaving the patrons who haven't put there names on the wait list yet awkwardly stand there. When she would finally return, she would excuse herself through the crowd by saying "beep, beep" instead of excuse me. There seemed to be an uncomfortable exchange between her and a server. It was apparent that the way she was seating people was putting stress on the servers. Sitting three large tables at once to the same server (this happened to us), but our service was tremendous thanks to the server. The food is good, portions are generally large. I don't see how one could ever leave here hungry. The only issue I've ever had here is the one time I had sent back some food that arrived ice cold. It returned back to my table so hot that it literally burned my mouth. When I asked what they did, did just said they microwaved it. I was taken aback at how that seemed ok to them. Microwaved pasta! Needless to say, I just sent to back, then they offered to make me a new one. Then told me that when I came next time, they'd give me a discount. He apparently was a manager, which seems like poor...
