Doesn’t Matter Bar and Grill - Carolina Forest — Restaurant in South Carolina

Arrived at 5:45pm to play Jukebox Bingo at 6:00pm which we were pretty excited for. We came earlier in the week to play trivia and the service was decent enough to return but nothing to write home about. Food was pretty good. There is a sign located at the door which says to seat yourself and as it was crowded for bingo there was only one table available, which was dirty. We sat down and proceeded to buss the table ourselves, moving and stacking the cups and plates at the end of the table for a server to easily grab while walking past. Twice, someone said they would be with us shortly. After 30 minutes of waiting for a server and still sitting with a dirty table as multiple servers walked past with empty hands and didn’t bother to grab the easily accessible plates sitting at the end of the table (and also saw that we still had not received any service), we became frustrated and ordered drinks from the bar. The bartender (who we presume to be a manager) was extremely rude and did not apologize for the lack of service or offer anything for the amount of time we had sat at a dirty table with no server. We essentially decided we would not be ordering any food and went to a nearby restaurant after a server who saw us seated for a very long time finally came over after waiting for 40 minutes. I understand that everywhere is short staffed and also understand that the servers were extremely busy. However, there is no excuse for rude management or the inability to at least allow us to sit at a clean table while we waited for a server to become available. With serving experience, I understand being short staffed and overwhelmed. I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but our service was so terrible and management was so unapologetic, we will absolutely not...

My boyfriend and I recently came to this establishment and didn’t feel welcomed while we were there. It started out nice, but sadly it didn’t last for long.

Our waitress, Raeanna, didn’t come by and check on us for a while, but with other customers she was there in a flash. She forgot our extra fries not only once, but twice. She grabbed our straws without a napkin and put them right on the table. Yeah, corona doesn’t exist right? Along with our drinks, she didn’t ID me. We both got alcoholic drinks and she only ID’d my boyfriend. She also blurted out, “Keep the tip you said?” when neither one of us said anything to her about a tip. We were planning to leave her a tip, but she instead decides to steal $3off our change back. (The meal was $30.26, we gave her $40.26, suppose to have $10.00 back, but instead she brings back $7.24.) Luckily, she only got an extra $2 out of us because she started to rush us out. Rushing us out and we were planning to get more drinks, but instead she stole her $5 tip. Sad. She was a terrible server and really disappointed us.

The OWNER also had a few issues his self. He would talk to everyone except us, and he was constantly staring at us while still avoiding us. It didn’t help that we were literally the only two young African Americans in the restaurant surrounded by nothing but white people staring us. We definitely felt threatened and disrespected by literally the staff and customers. We felt judged, discriminated against, and not included. We've been there many time and I always enjoyed the food. The waitstaff is great and very friendly. Over the last six months we've been there weekly for one of their theme nights and the food is not up to par. Having eaten many items on their menu there appears to be no quality control in the kitchen. Burgers are over cooked always well done staff never asks how would you like it done. The French Onion soup lacked any flavor, ceaser salad was awful and thats hard to do. Gyro was awful. Had buffalo wings one week that were great the following week they were awful. Many of thier sandwiches are great and so are many of the appertizers but overall they need to get quality control over the kitchen

Latest update Aug 3 2023. Its too bad no one from this establishment is not reading these reviews. Once again terribly disappointed with the food. Had their fried fish dinner with baked potatoe and grilled vegtables. Vegetables were not fresh they were obviously frozen and cold when served. Baked potatoe was not warm enough to even melt the butter put on it. Sad that nothings changed.

Latest update September 5 2024. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. As their name states Doesn't Matter Bar & Grill thats the way the owners feel about the quality of their food and and service. They have successfully chased our group of 16 people every Thursday away along with many other regulars. Reading some of the other reviews here they obviously have ignored them because the same food quality issues still exist never knowing whats going to come out of the kitchen.
