Went here with my mom around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was quite busy, but they do have ample parking. They have a fair bit of parking in front of the restaurant, and there's more parking across the street.
My mom has difficulty walking but they are accessible to disabled folks. They have a ramp that accesses all levels of the restaurant including the patio, and inside there's an elevator.
We preferred to eat on the patio; it has an excellent view of the inlet and you can see goat Island which does in fact have actual goats (they're very well taken care of). The patio has the potential to be closed in but the windows were open (no screens) for the beautiful day. It also has what looked like heaters for cooler days.
There was a 30 minute wait for the patio so we went inside and sat at the bar to wait. They take down your name and number, and they have a texting system to let you know when your table is ready. Mom had a couple chocolate martinis and I had a lavender lemon drop and a mojito. All were delicious and perfectly balanced. They do have TVs around the place so there were various sports games on. They even changed one of the TV's to a game mom and I wanted to watch when asked. They also had a good music selection that you could hear anywhere in the restaurant.
Once we got our seats we enjoyed the view of the inlet. Both our waitress and the bartender were friendly and attentive. Mom ordered a sampler and I got the crab cakes. Mom said the steak was really tender, and the bacon wrapped scallops were great. My crab cakes were perfectly cooked. Crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I especially liked the quantity of crab in the cakes. It wasn't bready like others I've had in the past. The cakes came with a sauce that was very delicious, though it was a touch spicy, so those that don't like spicy be aware. I had steamed veggies as a side and they were flavored nicely and not overcooked.
As far as prices go, I think everything was reasonable. Drinks were $9 each and our food came to $56 for the both of us.
Overall it was a great experience and I recommend this place to anyone that wants good music, views,...
Read moreMurrells Inlet Marshwalk is a must for those visiting and with a line of top notch restaurants one would be hard pressed to not find something to their liking. For most, including DJ’s, one is paying for the location, ambiance and the culinary experience. With over 40 years of experience, DJ’s features only the freshest seafood available, hand-cut aged beef, sandwiches and small bites, salads and specials. Given the option, we first seated ourselves in the lower level, awaiting our table, which is the bar area offering light appetizers, liquid libations and live music. An order of mozzarella sticks and drinks held us over. Shortly afterwards, we were summoned upstairs via a text msg. The dining area is a long, narrow run of tables overlooking the beautiful waters of the Inlet, Marshwalk and Goat Island. Yes, an island with goats, placed by DJ’s for past 24 years to help keep the underbrush down. The goats get to spend their summer vacation on an all-inclusive island with fresh food and water. An additional open patio below is available if one is willing to wait. Our server, Wendy, got us our drinks and an order of hush puppies and honey butter. One cannot go wrong with hush puppies and we were soon enjoying them. Next, came our Combo platter with 2 to 3 choices of a number of fresh seafood options; which could be fried, broiled and/or sautéed. A handful of sides were also for your choosing. We were soon enjoying the lightly seasoned flounder, sautéed fantail shrimp and fried creek shrimp with a side of French fries. Temperature of food could have been hotter, but the light seasoning allowed the fresh catch to be sampled, savored and...
Read more9/29/2023 Super Moon tonight.. Been going here for several years. One of my Wife and I favorite restaurants. Never had a bad experience. But it was just my Dad and I tonight for the visit. My Dad is 94 by the way.
Tonight was no difference. From the Ladies at check in with thier incredible professionalism and attitude made the first impression of coming in the door very inviting. Our table wait was 30 minutes tonight and right on the money.
We went to the downstairs bar for a drink. Meet Andrew (I think was his name said had been thier 10 years). Poped on black rimmed glasses on occasion. Was very seasoned and did his job perfect. Made everyone laugh, mixed a perfect drink. Made suggestions on tap 🍺 ale. Which my Dad really liked and has not had a beer in over a year or more. But my Strawberry frozen daiquiri was spot on. Not too much liquor and was perfect.
Our table was called, we were sat upstairs. And our Waitress was a ball of fire. Her name was Layla. Knew the menu gave the special of the day with great execution and enthusiasm. She also made our night complete. She tended to our drinks kept them full. And came around at all the right times to see it we needed anything. Also, one thing I can tell if a Waiter or Waitress is good to great. Even though my Dad and I did not finish our meal. She still asked "how about dessert". She needs to train some others is the full experience. Not saying ever had a bad experience at Drunken Jack's!
I had a cup of delicious She Crab Soup, and Fried Combo platter and Dad had the Two Crab Cake meal. Hush puppies with whipped honey butter are incredibly good 👍!
Highly...
