Where to start... my Wife loved her Stuffed Flounder and our Server was great. She took very good care of us and stopped by often. I got the Seafood Platter which really should be called a combo platter. It came with a lot of clam strips piled on top. Clam strips are what you give kids when you don't want to waste money on better seafood. I should have read the menu better, but I've never seen a Seafood Platter come with 2 kinds of seafood that you can actually eat. I'm not counting the rubberized strips. Now my main gripe after spending a lot of money. If your breading is falling off a fish filet, the most likely culprit is too much moisture on the fish which prevents the breading from properly adhering; this could be due to not drying the fish thoroughly enough before breading, or using fish that is still slightly frozen. So which was it? Not going back, so it really doesn't matter. I don't ask for do overs, nor do I ever complain and ask for a discount. This appears to be normal operating procedures.

The location makes Filet's Waterfront a great place to visit. Overall, the food was really very good, but the servers need some training. We were there after happy hour, but the regular drink prices are very reasonable. A lot can be said for about any restaurant's offering of 'House' wines - my wife had a house Pinot Grigio that she said was excellent (only $6). My bottled beer was delivered by our waitress without a glass. She was busy, so I went to the bar myself and the bartender (very pleasant and attentive) gave me a frosted pint glass- much better. We ordered appetizers, but then our salads were delivered before the appetizers arrived. OK, not the end of the world, but not what is expected. Appetizers were great- a half dozen oysters and a sushi roll better than most. Our entrees were delicious - the seared tuna and the prime rib. Overall, you're going because you prefer to sit out on the deck with that great ambiance of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Filet's Waterfront is located in Harbourgate Marina in North Myrtle Beach. They are open Mon - Thu 4PM - 8PM and Fri - Sat 4PM - 9PM. I went in planning to order a great steak, but happy hour got the best of me. One look at the menu and suddenly I had a table full of small plates. I got to try the blackened fish bites with kickn" creole, spicy shrimp, fried clam strips, black & bleu beef tips, stuffed portobella, and garlic parmesan wings. Everything was enjoyable, and the price made it even better, all under $10 each. Our server, Maya, was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. She made sure we had everything we needed. The only downside was the drinks. Some were over-poured, and others didn't have the right ingredients. Filet's has indoor and outdoor seating. Pickup is available, but there is no delivery. Happy hour is Mon - Sat from 4PM - 6PM.

Dumpster fire alert This use to be my families favorite restaurant. After last night we will never visit this place again. We were there for 2 hours and never got our entrees. It took 20 min to get our first drinks 30 min to get appetizers, an hour and a half later we got our second drink. When I went to find our server to see what the hold up was she was at the bar eating her dinner. When I spoke to a manager to address the issues all she said was she would look at the video footage, and stood there with not a clue in sight. I then told them we were leaving and to cancel our food ( if it had even been started). The girl brought our check and I told her that this had been a horrible experience. She then got on the defensive side and said she was the best server. No she sucked. She then pitched a hissy fit and was pushing chairs, and yelling acting like a child. ( usually only see this stuff online) Again the so called manager did nothing. Clueless to the dumpster fire.

To add on to what the so called manager/ owners comments. First it’s sad that looking at all the reviews and comments you are the common denominator classless, unprofessional, and Have no clue how to run a business or simply be hospitable. Before blaming other people you should open your eyes to look at the bigger problem. People get frustrated and pissy because you have no idea how to run a restaurant and won’t get people what they need. First you said we had tons of drinks prior to appetizers. We had 1 drink per person prior to appetizers. The sushi was our appetizer and we got that, hot food no where to be found. You must be blind since our server WAS eating at the bar when I went to find her. Also you never once came to our table. I had to find a manager ( also I spoke to the host girl who sat us who claimed to be a manager not the owner) to address the problems because you were inside doing nothing to help the problems you had going on. Yes I did get loud. Only because your unprofessional server wanted to get in my face and bang her chest like an ape and tell me she was the best server. Yes I pointed at her and told her she sucked (no lie she does) She then acted like a little baby and started pushing chairs. You didn’t address that? Also other guest were leaving as well due to not being served. Not because of my behavior. I just had the balls to call out the BS. You literally need to take some accountability because you are failing your guest, staff and restaurant. Again we have been going there for 10 years. Never in my life have I had service this bad in my life at any restaurant. Before you say I should be ashamed about how I acted, you should take a good hard look and be ashamed of yourself for allowing the issues to take place which have caused all these guest in these reviews to be frustrated and rude since you have no idea what you are doing. Believe me I will continue to tell everyone how bad it was until can take accountability and except you...

I wanted to like Filet's. I read the most recent reviews and my hopes were set high - too high. I was sorely disappointed in my experience at Filet's. The Philly sushi was pitifully small - there was no other word for it. The rice was mushy and yet undercooked in some grains and the portion was so unbelievably small and sloppily made that I actually thought there was a second plate coming - maybe Filet's liked to split their sushi portions in two. Nope. Wrong. The P.E.I. mussels are probably from P.E.I. - but they sure don't taste fresh. It was rubbery and tasted like it had been frozen - not what I was expecting in terms of fresh seafood when I was sitting on the Intracoastal Waterway. The unsweetened iced tea had a funky, slightly sweet flavor to it. Perhaps it was old or someone accidentally added a dash of sugar to it. It wasn't pleasant. The only saving grace was the rolls, but I was again disappointed by the fact that the rolls (despite being told by a review that rolls were included in the dinner fare) cost me fifty cents apiece. I ordered three. They didn't look very appetizing, but I was pleasantly surprised. They were sweet, fresh, and tasted homemade. Topped with honey, they were the saving grace of the disappointing meal. They were also excellent sponges for the garlic wine broth that the previously-frozen mussels were served in. The ambiance of sitting outdoors at 4:30 pm on a summer evening was pleasant, except it was marred by the rowdy foursome of drunken adults cursing like sailors the next table over. I could tell by the looks on other sober diners that they weren't impressed with these hooligans either, who were clearly old enough to know better than to act like drunken sailors before five in the afternoon. Their boisterous manner was tolerable, but the fact that they were dropping F bombs and other colorful expletives with every other word was disgusting. For the meager portions and sub-par quality, I thought the food was overpriced and overall I was very disappointed. The only impressive item here was the rolls. They were excellent! I really wanted to like Filet's, but I'm sorry to say I will look elsewhere for meeting my vacation needs when...

Called two months in advance and requested a table on the heated patio by a window for the annual Christmas regatta. Called the week of the event to confirm seating and asked once again did we have a window seat on the patio and was told yes. The day of the event received a phone call from the establishment confirming our time and to let me know that due to a busy night we needed to arrive early and be informed that our reservation was at max an 1.5-1.75 because they had other tables to sit. Showed up early for our reservation and when taken to our table we were taken to a table inside the restaurant no where near the viewing area of the parade. When asked about this we were told that they had hundreds of reservations and could not accommodate everyone. I told the staff that I understood that but that I had requested our table months ago, had called ahead the week of, and had spoken to someone that day to confirm and never once was informed that we would not have the table that we requested. I was just told over and over how many reservations they had and they could not accomadate everyone. This felt very rude and like the biggest concern was seeing how many people to be packed into the restaurant into one night in order to make money. Had someone along the line informed us that we would not be able to sit in the area we had requested we would have opted to watch the parade outside in our own chairs and made a reservation for later in the night after the parade. I will not be back to the establishment. Also, we ordered an appetizer with our meal and told the waitress up front that we had a coupon for it. Never once did she tell us that their were not honoring coupons that night. When it came time to pay for the meal she informed us then that they were not honoring coupons and that the it was posted on the front door that they were not taking them. However, when we came in the front door it was open, therefore, we did not see it, and the waitress never told us when we ordered the dip and told her we had the coupon. After that and the food was only decent. I will not recommend this...
