The pro was everyone around was great! There was a lady that kept the table clean and she was very nice. The host was very nice also. The only good food I had was dessert! This was our first time here and might be the last. The waitress didn’t tell us about specials until we randomly seen it later on the wall. Which would have changed my choice. I personally got shrimp and grits and it was awful! Shrimp wasn’t seasoned, the gravy threw it off and there was so much bacon grease on top with bacon pieces. I ate two shrimp with some grits underneath and told the waitress I didn’t like it at all and couldn’t eat it. She just took the plate away. Two of my family got the broiled seafood and there was so much water/seasoned liquid underneath it, it was dripping with every bite and the scallops weren’t fully cooked. The kids chicken tenders and fried fish were great thought. We all ordered dessert and that was the best part of the meal! The chocolate cake was great! I would have posted a picture along with the shrimp and grits but I was starving. I gave three starts for the clean up lady, the host, kids meals and the dessert.

I chose this restaurant because it was rated #1 in North Myrtle Beach on Yelp. The interior was clean and nicely decorated, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, as a first-time customer, I didn’t feel encouraged to return. Our waiter seemed inexperienced, as he was unfamiliar with the menu and basic service expectations. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the fried shrimp plate. While the shrimp and grits were decent, the dish included very few shrimp, which was disappointing. For me, the quality of a drink is just as important as the food when enjoying a meal. Unfortunately, the tea was extremely weak. I politely asked if they could provide a stronger brew, but the waiter checked with the kitchen and said it wasn’t possible. After finishing our meal, I asked if I could bring my own beverage on a future visit. The staff consulted with the kitchen and informed me that it wasn’t allowed. At that point, I decided to let them know we wouldn’t be returning.

We had a very underwhelming experience at the Tidewater Grill. The place is located in a strip mall with VERY limited seating. We were seated on what appeared to be an outside porch with at least 5 fans trying to cool it down. It was very loud to the point that one table asked to be moved. Our server missed many of our ordered items and got a bunch of items wrong. Some of the food was good but some definitively not. My salad came out warmer than my potatoes and broccoli. I asked to sun fries for potatoes and was told no. I asked to add a side of shrimp to my steak and was told no. I could go on and on. Long story short, this place is expensive and is trying to be something it’s not. The atmosphere, service, and food does not warrant the price paid. Skip over this establishment and head to the many other Myrtle Beach options!

Walked in at 630 pm tonight. Lady came up to my wife, child and i. " can i help u?" And in not the best tone.

I said yes were here to eat . And its 3 of us.

She asked if we had reservations. We did not. She says there are 2 parties in front of us. Are we sure we want to wait. I said yes. Knowing it is Saturday and most places will be busy.

That seemed to annoy her that we wanted to be on the wait list.

Well she took our name and number. 45 mins later we have watched about a dozen people walk out.

So we walk in. 4 open tables. Another lady wipes table off and seats us.

A few minutes later the original lady comes to our table to greet us..

Drink orders in. Seems to be okay now.

Comes back a few mins later to take our order. I ask for the broiled trio. And ask instead of fish can u just do extra shrimp or scallops. She tells me no. Not possible. Fine. I say leave the fish off. I don't want it on my plate. Wife orders. Now my kids order. My 2 year old eats a grilled cheese 5 to 6 times a week. She loves them. Menu online shows a kids grilled cheese.. i order that.

Im told we no longer serve that.. i said surely u have Bread or a bun since u serve sandwiches and have cheese Can u make that for her

Im told no . There isnt a way to special ring anything up and she was "too busy" to be answering these questions!

I was stunned ... So i said fine. Mac and cheese will be fine.

Wife reallty wanted us to leave but at this point we have invested over an hour here and its 740pm. Its really going to be busy else where and im not sure my kid will hold it together at another wait somewhere else. So we stay

I ordered a soup also. Dont ever see it until the meal comes. My wifes order and mine come up. My kids meal. No wherw to be found. My plate. Big fish on top of everything..

A few mins later my kids food. If yall have kids or know anything At least with me. Get the kids 1st ! I often even order her meal before ours. But whatever its here now..

Food is okay. Not bad. Not good Okay..

Bill comes for $84 bucks.

I look back at the menu All meals are served with salad and bread. A ceaser may be purchased for 50 cents more.

We declined the salads

But bread. My kid and i are huge on!

We never saw our waitress after ordering until late.

So when checked was dropped. I pretty much demanded my bread.

Anyways

I left a 15 pct tip. Way more then i should have based on things. But in fairness , not that the waitress knows. If the service was good i leave 20 pct. If it was great and someone does more then expected i leave 25 to 30 pct!

Anyways. Wont ever be back here. Ruined my night !

Some other notes. We were sat in front of the door. Which opened no less then 30 times while we were there. Its a small place! The main dining area with the bar included seats about 45 or 50. And the extra room was full we were told.

I would tell anyone looking to eat here. Stay far...

We were excited to try this place after reading some of the reviews and seeing some of the photos of the food. I don't know where those photos came from, because what we got looked nothing like it. They were not accommodating at all for anything we asked. Basically you get exactly what's in the menu as is or nothing. My son's seafood sampler platter was extremely greasy and the fish was supposed to be flounder and it definitely was not. The osyters were slimy even though fried and he couldn't eat it. Our waitress wasn't very friendly, and we felt very rushed out the door. Every 2 mins someone was trying to take plates and offer to go boxes even almost the moment we have received food at the table, to go boxes were being offered 🤷🏻‍♀️.

The business is in a really odd place as well, and it just doesn't give good vibes. We never felt welcome, even though others at other tables were clearly friends of the waitress and other staff.

One to the table busters attempted to take my daughter's place while she was eating. I told her were obviously still wanted that dish, she continues to attempt to take the dish and my dad got involved. The woman got an attitude with us!

I would not eat here again. And I wouldn't recommend anyone with kids go here either. Apparently kids are the...

The absolute best food we have ever had in the area. Betty, our server, was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. We had the following items and each was great. Appetizers: Pimentos cheese with house made chips and pork rinds. The chips were crisp without being greasy, the rinds were crisp, the cheese was well flavored. Calamari with fresh tomatoes in garlic sauce. This was my favorite thing if I had to pick one item. The calamari was very tender and well seasoned. Main: Crab cakes: these were great, lots of crab very little cake. Seared scallops : tender with no tough meat. Black and blue salad with steak: Steak cooked perfectly and the blue cheese was plentiful and great quality. Kids shrimp, kids steak, kids macaroni and cheese: all heartily eaten. Dessert : Key lime pie: This was top notch, creamy smooth, and not too sweet. Peach cobbler: Very fruit filled with just the right amount of sweetness and crust. Bananas Foster: ORDER THIS AS YOUR APPETIZER! This was so good and came in a huge serving. Drinks: Good beer and wine selection, no liquor but it was not needed with our other options. This will go on our list for all future visits and we will call and request Betty as our server....
