Room was dirty when we arrived, I already knew they had no other rooms open cause I had asked when I arrived and was told so. I took upon myself to clean areas with cleaners I brought with me but there was several things I could clean away. Tub handicap bar is filled Wil mold badly, there was syringe tops in the floor had to dispose myself due to my child. The doors where covered in what looked like someone threw soda or coffee on them and the floor in the closet as well. The fridge had a weird smell i was able to get this out of and cleaned up fridge before using. Do not as Linda I believe was one of the breakfast ladies she is a older white lady that does breakfast and sometimes cleans room for anything, and don't get your kid around her. She has no hospitality at all apparently she doesn't like her job or making sure things are fully stocked and ready on time for breakfast nor does she like kids making their own meal and God forbid if they make a mess they are willing to clean and asked for stuff to clean it up she got a very horrible attitude with my child and her trying to help me out as I am handicap. She just had bad attitude with all guest and food when she was doing it she didn't care if it was hot, filled or ever on time. You don't like your job find another for sure. She made our stay worse then what we were already having issues with. Another things I did not authorized and they did it anyway is allow people to charge things to my room when they clearly told them not to they where bringing money down give them a minute and nope a elder white guy on second shift charged it to my room on my cc without calling me for authorize use to do so as I have strictly told them nobody is to charge to my room and he done it anyway. Always amazes me us high members of choice hotel chains seem to be getting more worse service and not cared about by management and higher ups that is simple things that can change this hotel to be a better one with simple changes and team work from all staff and attitude adjustments for some as well. It just takes a little bit of care and respect for their jobs n guest which is not much to ask I don't think so anyway.
Positive note I know they were extremely overbooked and under staffed but being a loyal member with highest ranks you expect them to be a little more polite which we had a few that needs to be recognized for this sorry I didn't catch names. There is a black lady that does breakfast she was very sweet n kind and made my daughter smile when she seen her, there is a black gentleman that does maintance work there he was extremely helpful and went out of his way to help us out being I was handicap. There is also a black gentleman on second shift was very helpful and had no problems giving us items we needed plus I can tell u several times he never lost his cool with any of the guest and he went over and beyond to help out each one like they were family members of his own he was helping. There is a lady after staying 7 days I finally asked for house keeping now I don't like them coming in cleaning room and stuff anyway especially if I'm not there but I had requested to please have her come at 8am to clean she seen we were up at 7 and knocked to see what we needed n what I wanted to clean I pointed out what other dirty areas there was and clearly she seen them and was going to get us a credit if possible but I knew she was low on the scale n probably couldn't but she was shocked from it and also was shocked all I want was floor swept beds changed and things refilled like shampoo conditioner tp towels she kept asking you sure you don't want me to clean this and that I told her politely no not a point to do it now as I seen n documented it when I came in and we already had plans just wanted a little touch up she did state she could come clean it all next time if I liked but I knew she was swamped with rooms n we had dealt with it already for days and just tried to make best of our trip but she was nice and did try to help even though she just doesn't have the pull...
Read moreI arrived at the hotel on 8/19/2023 after driving 2.5 hours only to be told by the guy at the front desk that my room had been cancelled due to "lack of phone number on the reservation" but I was also told they had tried calling me, I asked "what number did you call if you don't have one on file?". The guy at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was not greeted by him when I arrived and due to him not being in a company uniform and was sloppily dressed I was not sure he was the one I needed to talk to. The lobby was full of guests at the time since it was 3pm and check in time, the front desk agent then proceeded to tell guests my personal information as he continued to wait on other guests and loudly telling every one "They are going to have to wait a while" and why I was having to wait and yelled my personal information across the lobby instead of calling me to the counter which I did not appreciate. During the time I was there, there was a female front desk agent getting off and she told the guy there was one room that was unsold and I could have the room. The agent then called her after she left the building put the call on speaker phone and then proceeded to give her all of my personal information. After the front desk agent yelled across the lobby again to tell me that the rate was going to be double what I paid and that he couldn't give me the room. It was very obvious that he didn't want to take the time to make accommodations for us. By this time the guests waiting to check in were asking me what was going on and making the same comment about how unprofessional the male front desk agent was. The front desk agent kept guests waiting long periods of time while carrying on conversation with other staff that approached the counter and answering phone calls. After this issue, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will be making further contact to corporate...
Read moreStayed for 2 nights at this hotel because I had a great experience at its sister in Augusta for the 3 nights before (mid -June 2022). The hotel looks good on the surface, BUT - we were given room 220. The odor was horrible entering and later found it to be applied pesticide (see 1st photo). It was hot because the curtains covered the air conditioner vent, so all the air went between the window and the curtain! There was a heat wave, but this room was especially hot.||In fact, all rooms from 211 to 220 were very hot. The cause was likely due to an overly hot electric room (was not like that on all the other floors) that they propped open with fans running across from 220 (see 2nd photo). They also closed the door between room 211 and the lower room numbers to keep the heat confined to the nine rooms (see 3rd photo).||The shower only had hot water, so they moved us to the 3rd floor on the second night. There were still issues with the long curtains, but without the added heat from the hallway, it was a bit more doable.||There was no food prep for breakfast, so you made your own via a microwave to heat a breakfast sandwich or a waffle iron to make waffles. We saw staff make guests wait while they helped themselves to the breakfast. ||The pool was closed off (via tie wraps) all of Monday, June 13th and maybe more, but I am not sure. ||There are two ice machines, one on the 3rd floor and another on the 5th. The 3rd floor was out of order and no one bothered to mop up the water that was spilling out over the bucket put underneath the machine to catch the very same water.||I am not sure, how a business that mostly thrives during the summer season can be off to such a bad start. ||We found the staff not particularly friendly and when we checked out a day early, no one even asked why. ||I will never recommend this...
