Moctezumas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

First time going here, we had a large reservation in the back room, around 22 people. Servers came in, dropped off chips and salsa, then came back to take drink orders. The salsa was very inconsistent, some much spicier than others, even though the salsa was supposed to be the same red salsa. Tasted great, but the inconsistency was odd. Drinks took a while to arrive, and there were incorrect drinks. One drink did not arrive, so someone had to go to the bar to get it. A couple extra drinks, that were not ordered, also arrived. Like the salsa, the margaritas were also very inconsistent. We had one that tasted like a double amount of tequila, and another that we could not taste any alcohol at all. The latter margarita was sent back, but was still incredibly weak when remade. When food arrived, the servers did not annotate where each meal went, so they had to ask the whole 22 person group for each meal. This would've been fine, expect there were four meals brought out that nobody ordered, one meal had to be sent back twice because it included items that were requested to be left off, and four of us did not receive our food. These four meals came out later, but the fact that they were forgotten and came so late was disappointing. Nobody had complaints about the food taste. When the waiters started figuring out checks, they had multiple double-ordered drinks for people, didn't know who ordered what, and the whole process of paying for our food took around 45 minutes.

We ordered our food today, directly from Moctezumas however, Moctezumas uses DoorDash as their “to go” order service. we ordered our food at 6:45 PM today which is February 2, 2024 a Friday our estimated pick up time is between 7:15 PM to 730. We get there at 7:15. My wife tells them she placed a to go order they say it will be 30 to 45 minutes, she asked for a refund they say they can’t give us a refund and there’s nothing they can do about it go to DoorDash if you’re inquiring about a refund. The manager says if I don’t answer the phone and take your order then I can’t give you a refund(please keep in mind I called ahead of time, and nobody picked up the phone), if you order it through DoorDash, we don’t get the money, DoorDash has the money and they set the estimated time for pick up we have nothing to do with it. The manager totally bypassed the point that the restaurant must “confirm” the order for it to be prepared, Moctezumas did that not DoorDash! Needless to say, he was very smug, nonchalant and of no help. When our order finally, is up, only my wife’s order is in the bag and now we have to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for my order. By this time it is 8:20 PM. Before I left, I told the manager I will never ever come back to this restaurant. To totally defeat, the purpose of takeout and be that arrogantly nonchalant about it is infuriating. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Absolutely disgusting experience from start to finish. The waitress was beyond rude and had no sense of professionalism, and the so-called “manager” (who clearly was just pretending to be one) wasn’t any better. To start, my tortilla chips fell on the table and instead of offering to bring a fresh bowl, the waitress tried to scoop them back into the original bowl like that was acceptable. Completely unhygienic and nasty. Then we discovered a fly in our food—yes, a FLY. When we pointed it out, not only did no one apologize, but they also tried to take just the cheese off the tab, even though the fly was in the cheese. We told them we didn’t want any of the food at that point. The food was barely touched, but they still had the nerve to make us pay for our drinks.
