Christmas Eve 2023. Absolutely the worst service ever. Visiting from out of town and we took mom to dinner at Outback of Greenwood SC. We ate plenty of time before closing as to avoid making anyone serve us there late. The server had no personality. he did not know the menu, didn't know what was available or sold out and served overcooked/overfried and obviously staged and stale bloomin onion. The server left drinks unfilled except for 1 time but forgot to actually get the drink and bring it back. It was a 10 min wait foe a water refill. Then the food came out. I had a ribeye that looked like what you'd get from the waffle house. Thin cut low quality steak. My girl got cold mashed potatoes and the server didn't bring condiments for my mom's burger and it got cold and disgusting. The server left dirty appetizer plates and unfinished appetizer on the table with other dirty dishes the whole meal. No prebussing at all. I couldn't get a beer because the server never came back and asked if I'd like one. I used to work at this location in 2021 when we had to memorize the menu verbatim, kneel at the table, describe the specials and remove dirty dishes as a bare minimum for good service. Our bill for 3 people was $108 and the service was equal to McDonald's. I DO NOT suggest anyone waste their time or money at this Greenwood SC location. The manager never made any table rounds either to check on us. We were intentionally avoided because I had a service dog. The food quality and service are 1 star and it is obvious they don't make anything fresh anymore. WILL NOT be coming back for any reason and will always tell people to avoid it. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Terrible Christmas Eve dinner experience. It has really declined at this restaurant and the price increases are noticeable and unreasonable in 2023. Glad I don't live here anymore and have only this option for a steak house in town.
**As of January 2 2024, I have contacted Outback via email twice about the Christmas Eve terrible experience. I left my contact information and phone number. THEY ARE YET TO CONTACT ME. They absolutely ignore the situation despite a generic online post that they want to hear from you. Lol what a joke. This is a store that should be closed like Ocharleys and Ruby Tuesday both located in Greenwood SC. Awful avoid...
Read moreOk, let's start w/ my server. It's evident either they are understaffed or the young lady needs more training. We didn't wait long which was a plus. Our server was young and friendly but has a short attention span. We never got the bread that outback is known for. Mind you we asked 3x for it & all she said was "oh I forgot I'll get it", but to no avail We NEVER received it. My husband & I both ordered Ribeye; although he had shrimp & I ordered an extra side of Mac & Cheese. My husband ordered a garlic butter sauce. This was extra We had to pay no problem. He ordered med rare & I ordered well done. Both steaks were cooked wrong, We we're very tired from working all day. We never get to go out & decided let's just go in work clothes & have a date night as is. My sweet potato was cold. I asked for them to microwave it because I didn't want to take the chance to wait 20mins for another. Our side orders took forever. By the time my husband's garlic butter sauce came out my husband's shrimp got cold & he was done eating the rest of his food. I had to ask the manager for the sauce & my Mac & Cheese which she apologized but by this time this was the forth time I asked & I was done with my food. I had only 3 pieces of steak left. Needless to say I paid 89 dollars for food & service to only bring home the Mac & Cheese to waste & our date night was ruined. We don't like to complain but as my husband says "hunny you are a big reviewer you need to do one here" so here it is. For me, I feel the young lady needs MORE training in serving before putting her to serve. Oh & we weren't the only people to have issues as the 2 tables away complained as well. We just paid our check & tipped this poor young lady only 10 dollars, but if service would have been great she would have had a way better tip. Attention to detail is key, as a Business Owner this is...
Read moreTo qualify my review: The only outbacks I've been to were in New Jersey, Loved them. I've lived in SC for a few years and today was my first visit in the State. We were a party of 5 that arrived during the after Church rush . The blooming onion was overcooked and under drained after sitting in the deep-fry. I ordered a burger. It was so unremarkable I don't remember which one. Flavorless meat that resembled beef, if the menu says so, a watery chopped lettuce and onion mix with some type of"special sauce" equally as watery or watery because of the lettuce and onion. A lukewarm mess on a bun, even the cheddar cheese was flavorless. Fries were lukewarm , overcooked and a toddler size portion. All for $12&change. Ridiculous. My sister ordered, I believe what was called the Aussie fried chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli. I noticed that the chicken was almost burnt or the frying grease hadn't been changed in a while. Most of her "chicken" consisted of burntish breading. Neither my niece, her husband or their daughter commented positively or negatively on their food. My niece did ask for a refill when her entree arrived, it finally arrived by the time she was finished her meal. Had this visit just been my sister and I ---- I'd have expressed my opinion prior to leaving. My niece wanted to do something nice for her mother, my sister's birthday. I was invited as her guest and I felt it would have been rude to ruin such a beautiful day. My sister's treating for non Hodgkin's lymphoma and we honestly don't know if we've got another birthday lunch come next year . To whomever from the restaurant that might respond. Don't bother. You won't see my sister and I again. Do better in the front of the house and the back...
