The service clerks did a fantastic job assisting us, but I was met with complete and utter disrespect by a woman (possibly named Jill) at the front counter.
We came in expecting to pick up a frame I believed I had already paid for. When we placed the order, my card was taken, I signed for the job, and we were given a pickup slip with instructions not to lose itâso I took a picture of it on July 26.
Yesterday, we returned to the store excited to see the finished product. It was stunning. We browsed for hardware to hang it, but couldnât find exactly what we needed. As closing time approached, we joined about ten other customers in line at the front.
While waiting, we spotted my stained glass piece hanging off the edge of the last register. We showed my pickup slip and explained we were there to collect it. Someone else retrieved it, and we explained to the cashier that we thought it was already paid for, as my card had been run in the back when we placed the order.
At that point, the woman who brought the piece over reacted in the most unprofessional wayâsnapping, âNo, that never happened,â then immediately turning away and walking outside the front door. I was shocked, embarrassed, and angered by such a short-tempered response to what was clearly a misunderstanding. We were not there to get anything for free, and when we got home, I immediately checked my bank records to confirm whether the payment had gone through. Turned out, I was only charged for picking it up.
I worked in retail for seven years and would never speak to a customer in such a wayâespecially not in front of other customers. Her behavior was absolutely unacceptable and does not reflect the courtesy or professionalism I have experienced from the rest of the staff.
While the framer and the cashier were both friendly and helpful, this incident has ensured that this was my first and last visit...
Read morethe merchandise and sales are great!!! that's why i'll give them one star. the same management team has been here as long as i can remember. that's the only thing i'll say about them that can be taken as a positive. i've never seen any of the management be pleasant with customers ever crack a smile. They like to stare people down and look at them with judgment in their eyes whether that's intentional or not I don't know but that's the impression they give. I don't live in the Greenwood area but I'm down one week every month to help out my parents and I come to this Hobby lobby every time I'm down here. If Michael's or whatever it was just to be here we're still open I would Do my best never to come to the store. The non management associates/cashiers are always very pleasant; It's only what I've determined to be management that is just off the charts rude! I've been meaning to write this review for the last two years but always failed to do it and maybe hoped I would come in here someday and it wouldn't be like that but so far...
Read moreAmazing staff! Especially one cashier I believe his name is Ben. Such a nice young man! He is literally the best cashier I have ever had! He should of been manager or at least given some kind of raise! Sadly I was in the store the other day and was sad to see that he was not there, after asking some of the other employees where Ben the magnificent was I was heart broken to learn that he no longer worked there and that he had left to do bigger and better things as a flight attendant for a major airline. Even though Iâm very much devastated at the thought of never having the worldâs best cashier ever again I have to be proud of Ben because I know he is meant to do amazing things and will be the best flight attendant in the world⌠Hobby lobby will never be the same! Every time I see register 2 Iâll remember Ben the best cashier...
