Pelican's SnoBalls — Restaurant in South Carolina

My kids love Pelicans and are always excited for them to open every year. This season, I don't know if they are under new management or what, but the service and the quality are not the same. The past few times we've gone this season we noticed that half way through the snowball, its just ice. Definitely skimping on the flavor syrup. On top of that we had the worst customer service experience this past Sunday. As mentioned, we stop by often and though the flavors my boys get change, the one thing that doesnt change is that they always get an add on or two. Whether it's a gummy shark or skittles or nerds or cream, etc. They always order some extra treat for the top. This Sunday they ordered and came back to the car and mentioned that they didn't get their skittles or nerds and my oldests' was supposed to come with cream and there was none on top. I checked the receipt and we had a $.50 add on charge for cream and another $.50 for nerds. One snoball was skittles flavored and was supposed to come with skittles on top. We took the cups back up and let the lady and man working in the back know that they were missing their add ons. No big deal we thought. They were extremely busy and we had waited quite a long time. We just figured, simple mistake that we would get corrected with no problem. Not so. They proceeded to argue with me that they didn't order any add ons though the receipt clearly showed that they did. The lady finally admitted that she forgot the skittles for my sons skittles flavored one, but they both went on about how my other son did not order nerds. He always orders some kind of add on and it was on the receipt! I also mentioned that there was no cream on it and they said that it was mixed in?? We have never had it "mixed in", you can always see it on the top even if blended in slightly. I was shocked that they were arguing with me over a 5 cent spoonful of nerds that we paid them $0.50 for. She finally threw a spoonful of nerds in his cup and said that it was just so that they could move the line along. So very rude! On top of that, when we got home and they got to the middle of the snoball there was just ice! So sad! We frequent here at least once a week & have always had amazing experiences but tonight was different. We ordered 2 kiddie snow cones and I decided to try a different flavor than normal fruity pebbles. My boyfriends came out first and then mine came out second I did not hear what they called out but assumed it was mine. I started eating and realized it did not seem like Fruity Pebbles which is what we ordered but I had never had it so who am I to know? I walk up to the window to ask about the flavors because one I liked the other I could tell was grape which I am not a huge fan of. Whoever was working then informed me I did not order fruity pebbles instead I ordered pretty princess. 1. Those do not sound alike at all 2. I would have never ordered something that was half grape. After she informed me she closed the window. I understand they were busy but I paid for something and did not get it. So upsetting. I hole a mama her sees this, Everton should be trained on why to do when an order is messed up. I don’t think I would of cared as much if they would...

I love Pelicans. Wedding Cake is my favorite flavor. Well actually it’s the only flavor I ever buy for myself...all 27 times I’ve been. My son always gets a new flavor so I try his from time to time. This time he wanted sprinkles. The guy grabbed the sprinkles and handed it to the lady and she said loudly enough for me to hear “you have to charge for that.” in a not so pleasant tone. OK, just a tad bit rude. But .50 for a few sprinkles? And when i got the snoball I noticed she barley dashed any sprinkles on it, more like dust. As my grandmother would say, next time I’ll bring my own sprinkles. The guy who takes my order is always VERY kind. This is my second time at this particular location. This time it smelled of moth balls. I’ll go to a different location next time to persevere the good association I have...
